Final Fuentes Brother......boo hoo

Chain Reaction
Simone Elkeles
Released Aug 16, 2011
308 Pages
Walker Books

Really enjoyed Luis' story and the final book in the Perfect Chemistry series.  It was a bittersweet ending for me....since we will have no more Fuentes brothers to fawn over....but maybe Paco and Junior will show up one day and we can enjoy the next generation of Sexy Fuentes family members!!

This was a bit more fast paced, covered a bit more time I felt than the last two.  The relationship was quick to come about, but the Chemistry was dead on and HOTTTTT!!  Really enjoyed Luis and Nikki's relationship and watching their feelings for each other grow so intensely.  Luis is such a flirt, I loved him.  He is smart and funny and Very adorable.  I don't know how Nikki resisted so long!!

I was so happy to see Alex and Brit with Paco as a baby, and Carlos and Kiara.  I would like to say that Carlos really can be an ass sometimes.....'Pointing to his left hand' "Still a bachelor", What a poop head!!

I liked that Nikki is a girl who is not giving up on her man and what happened at the end...oh boy, I wouldn't be messing with her or her family, she is one fierce woman!!

Thank you Simone for another great book.....you have left all of us heartbroken that the Fuentes brothers are all taken!!

Another Fun Read by Christie Craig...

Don't Mess With Texas
Christie Craig
Released Aug 23, 2011
400 Pages
Forever Publishers

Nikki Hunt's day just took a turn for the worse.  Not only was her cheating ex trying to get her back, but he skipped out on their $200.00 dinner bill, and then was found dead in the trunk of her car.  If that wasn't bad enough, Nikki was the number one suspect in the murder and that $200.00 dinner just ended up all over handsome PI, Dallas O'Connor.  What's a girl to do, besides allowing the hottie PI to get you off the suspect list, and maybe get you into his bed.....I think that sounds about right!!

Don't Mess With Texas had a fun cast of characters as usual in Craig's books.  The beginning was a bit slow, and I didn't feel a instant connection to Nikki or Dallas right away.  I really ended up liking Dallas for a hero.  He was sweet, protective and HOT.  I enjoyed their chemistry throughout the book and their interactions with all of the other characters, Nana, Nance, Tony and LeAnn, even Tyler and Austin.  I really enjoyed the sub-relationship between Tony and LeAnn, even a bit more than the main plot.

Even with a bit of a slow start, the mystery started to unravel and it was a fun ride.  Another cute read by Christie Craig, probably won't make a spot on my favorites shelf, but definitely worth the read.

Catching up with The Tracers

Hey Everyone,

Even with the big move going on this week, I have been trying to keep up with a bit of reading when I can, so I can keep writing reviews for some Fantastic New Releases and Upcoming Releases, or even just some great reads that you might have not even known were out there!!

With the release of Snapped by Laura Griffin on August 30th, I have been catching up with the two latest in the Tracers Series that had been taking up space on my TBR pile...how they ended up there...I have no idea.

For all the Griffin newbies, start with Untraceable, then Unspeakable followed by Unforgivable.  This should have you all caught up for the release of Snapped.  If you like Romance Suspense and like a thrilling read that involves cops, forensics and criminal profiling, then these are right up your alley!

And for all of you Tracer Series Fanatics, Laura has announced that there will be at least two more books in the series, Twisted being released in March 2012 and the other is still untitled.  That should keep us fans happy for a little while!!

Thanks Laura for the descriptive, in your face thrillers that keep us up far into the night!  Keep them coming and we will keep on reading!

Bad Boy's Definitely Do

Bad Boys Do
Victoria Dahl
Released September 27, 2011
HQN Publishing

I really enjoyed Jamie's story, which is the second book in the Donovan Brewery Series by Victoria Dahl. Jamie is our reformed bad boy, which no one seems to notice, except for Olivia, our buttoned up teacher who is using Jamie to be more fun, but senses his serious side while helping him with his plans for expanding the Brewery business. Olivia can't imagine being the kind of woman Jamie would keep around after they are done with their "Arrangement", but Jamie has a few things to say about what he WANTS and becomes very tired of everyone reminding him of his past mistakes. What will happen when "fun" and "serious" clash? You will need to purchase the book to find out!!

I really enjoyed Jamie's book. I always love a reformed bad boy, well more like he finally grew up but the people closest to him just were not able to see the differences. Jamie was sweet and sexy, everything we look for in our hero. I really liked Olivia as our heroine. She was a buttoned up teacher looking to break free and she found just the right person to show her how to have fun. I loved how she saw the transition in Jamie before anyone else and encouraged him to pursue his dreams, even if she was a little slow on the emotional end. It took her a while to realize that Jamie really did care about her and was looking for more from their "arrangement".

Definitely a too read, and keep your eyes peeled for Eric's story, Real Men Will, coming in November 2011

Have We Met?

Enticed by His Forgotten Lover
Maya Banks
Released Sept 13, 2011
192 pages
Harlequin

I was very much Enticed by Maya Bank's upcoming release, Enticed by His Forgotten Lover. Who doesn't love a good amnesia story. Rafe, a stiff suit, has lost a whole month of his life after being involved in a plane crash. Four months later he is confronted at an event by a petite woman who claims to know him but he can't remember ever meeting her. Bryony is pregnant with this mans baby and he is pretending not to know who she is.....she doesn't think things can get worse, until Rafe comes to her hotel room to convince her to help him remember their time together.

As the days and nights pass, the two connect again in a way neither expected or experienced before, but Rafe still holds the deed to land that Bryony owned prior to their deal and he has investors to answer to. What will happen between these two lovers if he continues construction, and what if his memories of that lost month come back? You will definitely need to get a hold of this great read to find out.
Maya has a way of really drawing you into the characters lives, leaving hints here and there without giving away the whole story. This book was a great start to new series, Pregnancy and Passion.

Keep a look out for the rest of the Pregnancy and Passion Series featuring Ryan, Dev and Cam.

SERIAL KILLER STRIKES

Deadly Obsession
Katie Reus
Released Aug 15, 2011
Carina Press (ebook only)

Lilly Carmichael is forced home after the death of the aunt that had raised her. But was her aunts death an accident or was it part of a string of murders happening in her small hometown? Sheriff Braden Donnelly is not only dealing with the recent murders in his quiet little town but now Lilly has come back. Braden hasn't seen Lilly since the day she walked away from him ten years ago, but with the string of murders where everyone is tied to Braden somehow, he can't let Lilly out of his sight for she might be next. Will these two be able to keep their hands off each other while trying to find a serial killer before he strikes again?

Deadly Obsession was an exciting read with nicely drawn out characters. Unfortunately it was a bit lacking in the trill factor. I liked the story, I really did. The author gave us a great storyline with characters that had a past which drew us into the suspense. But it wasn't a page turner where I needed to know what happened next and couldn't put it down. Worth the read but won't be making it onto my keeper shelf.

Fate Works Its Magic

Lucky Girl
Cate Lord
Released Sept 6, 2011
Entangled Publishing

Lucky Girl, the upcoming release from Cate Lord was delightful treat. The story was light, funny and sweet, with a little bit of heat mixed in. It asks the question, "Do you believe in Fate?" The two main characters, Nick and Jess, have a chance meeting two years ago while she was in London for her favorite Grandfathers funeral. While attending her cousins wedding two years later, the two are thrown together again, and we follow them on a roller coaster ride of a time. What will happen between these two, and could it have been fate that had them meet again? You will just have to pick up a copy and check it out!

The beginning was a little slow to pick up and sometimes it got to be overly descriptive, but for a fun, lighthearted romance with some comedy thrown in, I say it was a great read!  And we get Nick, a hotty PR exec with an English Accent....yummy!!

Holy Sex Batman.....this one will require a cold shower!  Jaci has brought us the second installlment of her Play By Play series, Changing The Game, which turns up the heat triple time.  First Basemen, Gavin Riley doesn't like that his very hot, very sexy agent has been avoiding him ever since being canned by his big brother, Mick.  He wants to get to the bottom of the issue but all he gets is Elizabeth under him, in his bed and plans to keep her there for as long as this "thing" between them lasts.  Sounds simple until things become more than just 'friends with benefits'.  Liz has been in love with Gavin for years and if he finds out how she really feels she could lose it all, not just her client but her heart.  You need to run out and purchase this amazing read...like NOW...if you are looking for a sweet love story with some very sexy, very steamy, very 'oh baby' sex...you have found it all right here.

TOO HOT is right!!

Too Hot To Touch
Louisa Edwards
Released Aug 2, 2011
352 Pages
St. Martin Press

Ms. Edwards has done it again with the first book of the new Rising Star Chef Series, Too Hot To Touch.  Too Hot features Lundens Tavern, a New York City steak house owned by Gus and Nina Lunden, and their two sons, Max (the wanderer) and Danny (the loyal).  Max is called home to help win the East Coast slot for the national challenge, with the help of Danny, Beck, Win and the beautiful Jules, who Max has known for as long as Danny and her have been best friends.  He just didn't remember how beautiful she was, and he definitely hadn't felt anything back then for her, but now, oh boy does he like feeling her...I mean the way he feels when they are around each other.  The only issue among many is that Jules is more of a part of the Lunden family now than Max is, and she has one rule, Never date a co-worker again!  What will happen when the kitchen heats up from all the sexual energy between Max and Jules?  Can they make it as a couple even if Max is leaving for Italy as soon as the competition is over?  You are going to have to go out and purchase the book to find out!!

But I will tell you that the chemistry between Max and Jules is heating up from page one!!  The pantry...oh boy, I did not think a pantry could be so HOT!  I really loved Max, he was no hold bard about his feelings and just because Jules was a little gun shy about her feelings didn't mean that she couldn't appreciate the way Max just put it all out there for the world to see.  Max helped Jules to see the best of herself and I like that in a hero!!

Can't wait for Danny's book coming this winter, Some Like It Hot, where he heats it up with Ms. Eva.......and who wants more Claire and Kane...um meeeeeee!!  Loved their chemistry and sexual tension....cant wait to see what happens......

ONLY...a few more weeks!

Only Yours
Susan Mallery
Released August 30, 2011
384 Pages
HQN Publishers

Another score for Susan Mallery and her Fool's Gold Series. Only Yours, the follow up to Only Mine, which will be out in stores at the end of the month, is a hit! Montana Hendrix, therapy dog trainer and one of the famous Hendrix triplets, sets her sights on the new burn specialist, Dr. Simon Bradley. Simon, who is as her sisters say "A sexy, scarred loner", can't stop himself from the overwhelming passion he feels when he sets his eyes on Montana, but he has no plans on staying around in Fool's Gold when his three month assignment is over. Will the town of Fool's Gold be able to keep Simon from leaving, or will he go, taking Montana's heart with him? You will just have to get the next book of the Fool's Gold series to find out!

As a big fan of Susan Mallery I was thrilled when she decided to write more Fool's Gold novels. We all love the closeness of the town folk and we love all the books that have been written so far. I really liked Montana as the heroine. she is strong but has a problem with seeing all the good she posses. Simon is a reclusive loner, and I loved that he felt so much for Montana, but wouldn't let himself bring her down with him to the darkest corners of his mind. For this couple it took a little trust, a lot of love and some steamy sex, but what else can we expect from the wonderful Susan Mallery.

Don't forget to mark your calendars for the release of Only His, the third book of the latest installment of the Fool's Gold Series.

LOVE & BETRAYAL

The Marriage Betrayal
Lynne Graham
Released July 26, 2011
Harlequin

In The Marriage Betrayal, we follow shipping heir, Sander and his immediate attraction to plain-jane Tally Spencer. Tally met Sander while on a weekend getaway with her snotty, stuck up half-sister and they have an instant connection. Tally leaves after an embarrassing incident, but Sander doesn't give up. He continues to pursue Tally and they have a short affair, but she ends things after he allows another woman to kiss him. Tally becomes pregnant, but Sander doesn't want to have anything to do with her or the baby, until he suddenly asks for her hand in marriage. Why the sudden change? You will just have to read the book to find out what happens with Tally and Sander, and then follow the couple on another roller coaster ride in the second book of the Volakis Vow Series, Bride for Real.

I really liked this book and I can't wait to get my hands on the second, Bride for Real coming in September. I liked the chemistry between playboy Sander and Tally, the forgotten daughter. She was stupid to fall for him when he told her he was only in it for a quick affair, but she fell nonetheless and was hurt, and the hurt just keeps coming. I was happy with the end of The Marriage Betrayal, then realized they have another tragedy ahead of them...boo hoo. Can't wait to see how that one ends!

WORTH THE WAIT........

Until There Was You
Kristan Higgins
Released October 25, 2011
384 Pages
Published by Harlequin

Firstly, I love everything Kristan Higgins. I love the emotion, I love the crazy characters, I love the story lines, how in depth they are and how descriptive the scenes. The thing I love the most though is the way she can take the story and make you feel as though you are right there with the hero and heroine, feeling what they feel, love, anger, heartbreak, everything!! And Until There Was You was no different.

Cordelia "Posey" Osterhagen was in love with Bad-boy,Liam Declan Murphy from the minute she first saw him strut down the hallway of their High School over twenty years ago. After the "Prom Incident" Posey never saw Liam again, he followed his High School love, Emma, to California where they got married and had a beautiful daughter.

Twenty years later, in walks Liam Murphy, still sexy bad-boy but a now widower and father of a beautiful fifteen year old Nicole. They two have been through alot in the last two years and being back in the town that Liam had called home for a while feels good. Minus all the dirty looks from girls he dumped, or the woman throwing themselves at him now. The only one giving him the cold shoulder is Ms. Cordelia (Posey) who he now notices not just as a kid, but someone who he might want to spend time with, especially if that time is spent horizontally. I won't tell you what happens between Liam and Posey, but I will tell you that you need to pre-buy this amazingly, heartwarming release by Kristan, that had me crying AGAIN...thank you...It is so worth the wait!!
Tell Me More
Janet Mullany
Released July 26, 2011
352 pages
Harlequin Publishers

Tell Me More was an Erotic Fantasy Novel involving Jo, a radio personality who after a difficult breakup gets involved with not just Mr. D, a mysterious stranger that she gets to know intimately over the phone, but an assortment of other men involved in some sort of Sex Club. In Reality, she becomes involved with her tenant, Patrick, whom she begins a real relationship with, might even be love. But when all the lies and hidden secrets about her sex life come out of the dark, will Patrick be able to see that what happened was just fantasy, but in reality Jo really is in love with him? Read the book to find out!!

I did like the book, I really did, but I hated what happened with Mr. D at the end. I really liked Patrick, and I was crushed when Jo decided to get her closure....I really was hoping she wouldn't have done it!! But closure is closure even if I HATE it!! I liked Jo as the heroine, a real female trying to come to terms with a cheating live in boyfriend and a sad encounter that she doesn't really speak about. Anyone would understand that she was spreading her wings and being a woman exploring her sexuality. I am not sure that I would have followed in her exact footsteps, but she had fun, she was a single girl and it was an experience. But I was sad for her, I was sad for Patrick, and I just wanted things to work out for two!! I love a happy ending....but who doesn't!! And for the record I HATED MR.D......just sayn!!

THROWBACK THURSDAY'S

I am starting something new for my blog, Throwback Thursday's.  Each Thursday I am going to review one of my past favorites for all of you looking for a fun, sexy read.

This week I introduce you to See Jane Score by Rachel Gibson.  This book is one of my absolute favorites, I have lost count of how many times I have read this book.  This is the one book that every time I lend it to someone, I buy another copy just in case I want to read it again before the person gives it back.

See Jane Score follows Jane Alcott, a reporter who has been given the chance to cover the Seattle Chinooks Hockey team while another reporter is on medical leave.  She see's this as her chance to prove herself a "real" reporter.  Of course the guys on the team give this little spitfire of a woman a hard time, especially Luc "Lucky" Martineau, the teams goalie and team bad-boy, who Jane can't stop thinking about.  Things heat up on the road between these two, but can they survive when Luc finds out what Jane has been hiding?  You need to read this book to find out what happens.

This is the second book of the Seattle Chinooks Series, others include:

Simply Irresistible
The Trouble with Valentine's Day
True Love and Other Disasters
Nothing But Trouble
Any Man of Mine (Her Newest Release)

Oh Mr. Darcy......

Epic Fail
Claire LaZebnik
Released August 2, 2011
288 Pages
Harper Teen

Who doesn't love a good remake of Pride and Prejudice...I do.  Following in the footsteps of Elizabeth Eulberg's Prom and Prejudice comes a cute, fun story about Elise Benton, a  High School junior at a new ritzy school in California, where the kids all have celebrity parents, her mother is the new principle and she can't help but notice the brooding hottie from the cafeteria.

That's not even the last of it, her older sister is falling for Chase, the best friend of cafeteria guy, Derek Edwards, who happens to have movie star parents, her younger sister Layla is making all the wrong decisions while trying to fit in with the popular crowd, and Elise befriends Webster, who is shunned by most of the school, but the reason why is very unclear, but it has something to do with Derek and Elise doesn't know whose side she should be on.

You will have to read the book to find out what happens in this debut YA by Claire LaZebnik.  I really enjoyed the love story of Elise and Derek, the progression of their relationship was real and I loved all the tension between them,  but some of the book seemed a little out of place.  I found the girls parents to be overly annoying and certain scenes could have been written differently, but all in all I thought it was a very cute story, and a great debut!

AUGUST AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT Featuring KRISTAN HIGGINS

If you have never read Kristan Higgins...then you are either living under a rock or haven't spent time skimming the Romance Shelves at Barnes and Noble.  Kristan is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling Author and a two time winner of the Romance Writer of America RITA award.

I discovered Kristan Higgins a few years ago when I came across Just One of the Guys while searching for a new read on Amazon.  From that moment on I WAS HOOKED!  Her novels are laugh out loud funny, and sometimes so outright emotional that you will need a box of tissues just to get to the end.

Her characters jump off the pages making you feel as if you are there in the story. She writes towns that you want to live in and families that you wish you were a part of, even if some of them remind you of your own crazy family.  The emotional depth is captured in every page, the pain, the love, the anger and the regret.  There is not one book that I can say I have not enjoyed, and some I have read and re-read too many times.

Her first release, Fools Rush In (11/06),  follows Millie, caught between Joe, the guy she has been crushing on FOREVER, and a sexy town cop, who also happens to be the ex-husband of her sister...Oh Boy!

Catch of the Day (10/07), which won the prestigious Romance Writers of America RITA Award in 2008, followed Maggie, who had a small, ok maybe a little bigger than small crush on the town Priest...I know...but somehow got caught up with Malone, a mysterious townie with enough problems of his own.

Just One of the Guys (08/08) has everything you could ever want in a Romance Novel:
1. Funny, kick butt and takes names heroine, who has had the biggest crush on Trevor Meade like FOREVER
 2. oh yea..Trevor Meade, hottie fireman who is like a fourth brother to Chastity, or at least she tries to see him that way, and
3. A story line that takes your heart, twists it, slams it down, steps on it and then picks it up to glue all the pieces back together, all while making you laugh your ass off...READ IT!!

Another RITA winner in 2010 is Too Good to be True (02/09).  We have Grace, who was dumped by her man for her little sister, and in convincing everyone that she is "Just Fine" she makes up this amazing boyfriend.  The only issue is coming up with said boyfriend for the wedding...but in walks Callahan, hottie neighbor to save the day.....well only if they can get past the horrible first meeting...

The Next Best Thing (02/10) has four widows, adorable fat cats, a sister who is sleeping with the creepy guy from the funeral home and one friends with benefits relationship with a very sexy brother in law....I know...but be warned, you will need tissues!

All I Ever Wanted (08/10) takes Callie, who is in love with her boss, has the cutest Grandfather ever and might be attracted to the new guy in town, well if he would stop scowling at her every time they meet...be warned...this one has a few tear jerking moments!!

My One and Only (04/11), her newest release follows divorce Attorney, Harper, when she is thrown together with her ex-husband, Nick on a crazy cross country adventure.  Sometimes being stuck with the one person who hurt you the most isn't always a bad thing......WARNING....Tissues Needed....Oh Boy...

Can't wait for her next release, Until There Was You coming November 2011, and for those of you who have not yet read anything by Kristan Higgins, you better get started right away...you won't be able to  stop at just one!

RETURN OF THE WALLFLOWERS

After an exciting trip to Bed Bath & Beyond yesterday to pick up a few items for the new house, me and my husband headed home where he decided to watch a movie he rented and said "Why don't you go read for a while."  Which I normally would do, but with having to wait until Tuesday for my new releases and the Library being closed so I coudn't get the holds I have waiting, I was stuck.  I wanted to read something that I haven't over read and I thought of just the thing, The Wallflower's series by Lisa Kleypas.

Four young ladies enter London Society with one goal: use their feminine wiles to find a husband.

 Secrets of a Summer Night
Annabelle Peyton and Simon Hunt's Story
Annabelle says that Mr. Hunt would be the last man she would marry, so why is she having such a hard time getting him out of her head.

 It Happened One Autumn
Lillian Bowman and Marcus Westcliff's Story
Uptight Marcus couldn't possibly ever marry a spitfire American like Lillian Bowman, but he can't stop thinking about her and what her reaction to his kisses means.

Devil In Winter
Evie Jenner and Lord St. Vincent's Story
She asked this notorious Rake to marry her for protection in return for money, so why does he feel as if he is in need of protection, from his growing feelings for her.

 Scandal In Spring
Daisy Bowman and Matthew Swifts Story
Daisy is the last Wallflower looking for love but she doesn't want just anyone, especially the man that her father has picked for her, but can she continue to deny the attraction for the one man she doesn't want to fall for.

If you have yet to read the Wallflower's Series, you need to run out and get them now.  They are funny, sexy, flirty Historical that will keep you entertained long throughout the night.  These are a To Read in my opinion and a great addition to any book collection!
