When it comes to love, they already know the rules…by heart.

Thirty-two and finally setting up her veterinary practice in the town she once called home, Emma Burnett is on her own and loving it. Independent and driven, she’s not letting any man get in the way of her dreams. Not again.

That’s fine with Luke McCormack. Divorced and hardly lacking in female company when he needs it, he’s devoted to the only faithful companion in his life—his police dog. Still, there’s something about Emma he can’t shake.

When a series of local break-ins leaves Emma vulnerable, she seeks help from the first man to spark her desire in years. And now they’re giving each other something they thought they’d lost forever… hope.

Jaci is fabulous at Smoking Hot and Sexy Reads, but she sure knows how to write a heart-warming and emotional Contemporary Romance, and that's what she did with HOPE FLAMES.

Applause to you Ms. Burton...

Firstly, Luke McCormack...Oh mama!!  and the way he loves Boomer, his German shepherd and best friend...MEGA SWOON!  You have to love a guy who loves his dog!! (Even if his bitch of an ex-wife didn't like dogs....Guess you can see what she is the EX)

Emma Burnett was an awesome heroine.  I loved how strong she was, and with such perseverance she had to become what she always wanted, even after all that she faced in an abusive relationship with an older man.  She didn't rely on a man, and didn't have any plans to ever again, but she could see when a good man came along...and he came strolling into her life, and didn't have any plans on walking away, even though he wasn't looking for a relationship either.  These two had me pulling out my hair, but the sexual chemistry was off the charts.

I truly enjoyed HOPE FLAMES.  Jaci Burton pulls at the heart-strings, and I am hanging on for the Next Installment, HOPE IGNITES, with Sexy Brother Logan (YUM), and HOPE SMOLDERS, the Novella featuring Jane and Will, who you meet in HOPE FLAMES, which will release as a stand-alone on Feb 25th.

Grab HOPE FLAMES, and Get lost in the Romance!!

Love a Bit of Romance at the Holiday's

Romancing the Holiday Anthology
Jaci Burton
HelenKay Dimon
Christi Barth
Released Dec 3rd, 2012
257 Pages
Carina Press
Source: NetGalley

Holiday Romances are among my favorites and these ladies sure don't fall short on the romance this Christmas.  Got a chance to catch up with the Kent and Holloway Families and Christi Barth gives us a friends to lovers romance to warm the cold winter nights.

Jaci Burton brings us The Best Thing, a return to the Kent Family and this time Bad-Boy, middle brother, Brody and Tori are hitting the sheets and maybe finally admitting the feelings they've had for each other for years. I happen to love the Kent Family and look forward to Jaci's Christmas novella every year.  If you haven't caught up with the Kent Family, make sure to pick up Ethan and Wyatt's romances, All She Wants for Christmas and A Rare Gift.

HelenKay Dimon shares another Holloway Romance with We'll Be Home for Christmas.  This time Spence gets himself in over his head with a three-night stand that has turned into something more, and Lila Payne is looking for a place to call home and it might just be with Spence.  For two people who never thought they would see each other again, after three wild nights in a hotel room, the chemistry between them was electric, and the banter was hysterical.  I truly enjoyed this novella and hope for many more to come from HelenKay.

In Ask Her at Christmas by Christi Barth, we meet Kyle, handsome IT geek who enlists his best friend, Caitlin to help him find a special way to propose to Monica, the daughter of a company head who is in line to merge companies with Kyle's fathers company.  Caitlin has been in love with Kyle forever, but won't stand in the way of Kyle finally gaining the respect of his father.  What is a girl to do?  Caitlin will just have to help Kyle get what he needs and then hopefully she can find a way to survive the holiday heartache.

Great Holiday Anthology that brings heart-warming, toe curling romance to the cold winter nights!  I highly recommend this anthology and recommend reading the past holiday romances from these wonderful authors, if you haven't already!

My Heart Wasn't In It

The Heart of a Killer
Jaci Burton
Released Oct 25th, 2011
409 Pages
Mira Publishing

Firstly, I want to give Ms. Burton props for stepping out of her comfort zone and making a go at the Romance Suspense Genre.  WOO HOO!!

With that being said, I will say that I thought the PLOT had soooooo much potential. It could have went anywhere with all of the choices we had for the killer. BUT, it just didn't do it for me. The story kind of fell flat. The plot just flopped somewhere after a few chapters and after a while I just didn't care WHO the killer was.

Anna was likeable in the first few page or two and then she kind of annoyed me. Dante was a hero, who lacked the hero traits. I mean, who just left their girlfriend after a traumatic event like that?? I understand it's fiction, but to never say goodbye?? And their chemistry....WAS SO NOT JACI BURTON....The dialogue was OFF and the relationship between them was just OK for me.

Now on the other hand....I thought Gabe was SEEEEEEXY, and If his book is the next in the series, I might just have to read it anyway!!

The plot was very repetitive, and I was kind of hoping that the person who attacked her was a kid obsessed with her, and his brother continued in the obsession, or something like that. Or Roman was really the one that tried to attack her, but a kid in the alley was mistaken for the guy in the shuffle.  Something other than what the outcome actually was.

So I will say it was ok/good, but not great/amazing. I usually LOVE Ms. Burton's stuff so I was actually very sad that I didn't like this one that much!! There is still hope for the next book in the series!!

Jaci Burton Scores....Again!

Changing The Game
Jaci Burton
Released August 2, 2011
299 Pages
Berkley Heat

Holy Sex Batman.....this one will require a cold shower!  Jaci has brought us the second installlment of her Play By Play series, Changing The Game, which turns up the heat triple time.  First Basemen, Gavin Riley doesn't like that his very hot, very sexy agent has been avoiding him ever since being canned by his big brother, Mick.  He wants to get to the bottom of the issue but all he gets is Elizabeth under him, in his bed and plans to keep her there for as long as this "thing" between them lasts.  Sounds simple until things become more than just 'friends with benefits'.  Liz has been in love with Gavin for years and if he finds out how she really feels she could lose it all, not just her client but her heart.  You need to run out and purchase this amazing read...like NOW...if you are looking for a sweet love story with some very sexy, very steamy, very 'oh baby' sex...you have found it all right here.

Looking forward to the next installment of the Play By Play series, Taking A Shot, coming in February,  featuring Jenna Riley and Ty Andersen.  What will happen when these two polar opposites finally ignite the flame!!
