Sneak Peak

Adrenaline roared through her veins. This was her only chance. Pushing away from the wall, she rounded the lift, desperately seeking an escape. She barely noticed the plush furnishings, soft-looking leather sofas and floor to ceiling window which showcased the most spectacular view she’d ever seen. Instead she focused on the walls surrounding the elevator.
‘Are you lost?’
The heavily accented voice froze her to the spot. She darted a glance toward the sound. Dark brows furrowed over the richest coloured eyes she’d seen. His gaze swept over the length of her body, then up, lingering on her rear for a beat too long. Her skin tingled under his scrutiny.
Turning her whole body to face him, she slapped a hand on her hip. ‘Had a good enough look?’
His lips quirked in a sexy, lopsided grin. The jitters were back and Alexa swore the temperature in the room shot up ten degrees. Her gaze dropped to his broad shoulders, covered in a thin white t-shirt, then down to a well filled chest. She could see a dark pattern beneath the t-shirt. She longed to find out what kind of tattoo he had. Usually, tats didn’t do it for her. But on that body…
‘I could ask you the same thing.’
She snapped her attention back to his face. He stepped toward her, his jaw set, his eyes dancing with humour and something darker…something that made her blood heat and her mouth water.
Alexa raised her arm, palm out. ‘Hold it there, Mr. Any closer and I’ll scream.’
He paused by the sofa. Propping his hip against the cream leather, he folded his arms across his chest, causing the muscles to bulge. The moisture drained from her mouth and flooded in her belly.
‘No one’s here to hear you.’ He cocked a brow. ‘You seem to be forgetting where you are and,’ his gaze dipped down to her breasts causing the nipples to peak against the lacy fabric ‘how underdressed.’
Alexa thought this moment would have topped the blush scale. She planted her other hand on her hip and glared at him, unwilling to show any weakness. ‘I’m just leaving.’
She turned and strode back to the lift, keeping her back straight and trying not to wiggle her hips too much. The predatory sheen in his eyes made her body more jittery than the idea of sprinting around the lower floor in her underwear. She reached out to hit the button, but a large hand circled her wrist before she made it.
Alexa squeaked and darted back a step. He was so close, and his chest was right in her face. She could see the dark outline of the tattoo beneath the thin cotton. The outline of a burning sun, she thought, or something that looked like a sun. Her hands itched to lift the material and see for herself.
‘I’m up here.’
She snapped her gaze back up to his smirking face and took another step back. His lips kicked up at the corners and his eyes darkened. She swallowed against the urge to step closer, to feel his hard body pressed against hers. But she realised she was in little more than her bra and knickers in a stranger’s home. Unease skittered down her spine.
Alexa squared her shoulders, trying to quash the fear turning her heated blood into cold sludge. ‘I’m leaving now.’
‘After you explain what you’re doing in my home in your undergarments.’
‘Undergarments?’ Alexa pressed her lips together to keep a giggle at bay. ‘Seriously?’

Meet Aimee

About me (snooze—can you tell I hate the me stuff? Lol)
For as long as I can remember, I've had a good book in my hands. In primary school I loved Roald Dahl. In high school my English teacher introduced me to Charles Dickens, Stephen King, Jane Austin, Emily Bronte, and Shakespeare. It was then that I discovered my love for romance and I've wanted to pen my own imaginary heroes and heroines for others to enjoy ever since. Only in the last few years was I lucky enough to meet some fabulous and encouraging people to help me gain the skills to make that dream possible.
I live in sunny Scotland in a small town near the Ochils and work nine to five in a solicitors office. In my free time, you'll find me on Facebook, stalking *cough* following friends on Twitter, and may even catch me shoe shopping.

Hero Profile

Name: Remy Adrien LeBeau

Age: 32
Occupation: Dallas Police Detective, Homicide

Physical Description: 6'2", dark brown hair usually kept short, dark brown eyes that look black at times, so says Cody. I usually wear suits with ties for the job, or jeans, T-shirt, and boots.

Likes: Good cup of coffee, a long ride on my Harley, a night out with Cody.

Dislikes: Suspects who think they can lie to me and get away with it. Cases that go cold, leaving the family with no closure. Cold coffee.

Relationship Status: Currently seeing Cody Lewis.

Typical Friday Night: If I’m not called out to a new homicide, I’m usually trying to talk Cody out of making me ride her horses. That woman is as persistent as a Louisiana mosquito. Or I’m watching my partner's nephew terrorize his maman or uncle.

Drink of Choice: Community Coffee with chicory. Can’t forget to mention that I’ve made my creator quite addicted to it, too. Ms. Austin, it’s the best stuff you ever drank, mais oui?

Favorite Food: Gumbo, of course, chère! Load it with chicken and the best Andouille sausage, sprinkle a li’l filé powder on top. Magnifique.

Choice of Transportation: Job requires my Corvette or the department car. But I love getting out on my Harley any chance I get.

Boxers or Briefs: Ahh, now, chère, that there is a secret only one … well, no, two women will ever know. My wife and my mama. Hmm, does Cody know? (gives his trademark charming grin) If she does, or doesn’t, I bet she won’t tell.

Best Memory to Date: Kissing Cody, that gal’s got fire. Or maybe it was watching her ride a horse? Actually, I think it’s both.

Words to live by: That which does not kill you will try harder the next time.

Meet Winter Austin

Winter Austin was once asked by her husband if he could meet some of the people who took residence in her head. She warned they weren’t all characters he wanted to meet, as killers walked among them. Needless to say, that conversation ended abruptly.
A lifelong Mid-West gal, Winter swears she should have been born in the South, Texas or Louisiana preferably. But then she’d miss the snowy winters.
Dividing her day between her four children and their various activities, a growing pet population, and her Beta-with-Alpha-tendencies Hero, Winter manages to find time to write chilling thrillers between loads of laundry.
Don’t worry. You won’t find any of her mouthwatering culinary dishes poisoned. Unless you’re one of her fictional creations.

TVBT: ALL OUT OF LOVE by Lori Wilde @tastybooktours #giveaway

Giveaway
Tasty Book Tours is giving away a
Paperback Copy of LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT
Book One in the Cupid Texas Series

BUY NOW

The second book in a dazzling new Cupid, Texas series by Lori Wilde. Welcome to Cupid, where every wish for love comes true…

For years, a small group of women in Cupid, TX, led by Millie Greenway, have taken it upon themselves to keep the Cupid legend alive. Now Millie has roped her four disbelieving granddaughters into joining the cause.

Lace Bettingfield knows for a fact that the Cupid legend is bogus. As a shy sixteen-year-old, she left a letter at the statue and got nothing in return but heaps of embarassment when her letter ended up printed in the school newspaper. But now the boy she longed for is back in town and Lace can't help wondering...what if?

It's OFFICIAL....Lori Wilde has done it again!!  ALL OUT OF LOVE has a ton of heart, a love that spans a decade and a heroine who proves that intelligence can be sexy!  (and talking about Plant Sex can make some guys horny...who knew)

I am starting with Pierce, Quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, Mr. Jock Talk yumminess...Yes...You will have a MEGA Swoon over this guy, but he is so much more than what he comes off as, and I was so happy that Lace gave him the chance to show her that he wasn't just a "guy with the lines".

Lace...rockin the black frames and the size 14...I liked her A LOT!  She had her insecurities, sure, but she didn't let anyone make her feel bad about the skin she was in, and I loved the way she used Plant Talk to describe Pierce...That was a favorite scene of mine...and the hotel room scene, but I will let you ladies read that one on your own.

If you haven't read the first book in the series, LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT, I suggest you start there, or with the novella ONE TRUE LOVE, the story of how it all began with Millie and John, who are the grandparent's of the four ladies featured in the Cupid Texas Series.  You will want to meet Dade and Natalie in LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT (talk about tugging the heart strings), and then you will be lucky enough to move onto Lace and Pierce in ALL OUT OF LOVE, which I flew through this weekend, I don't think I even put it down, I think I fed the baby while I was still reading...it was that good!

But these are the kind of books that get me...I believe in soul mates and love at first sight and this series totally grabbed my attention and I can't wait for the next book, Zoey's story to come out.

Buy them all...and Fall in LOVE!!

The COMPLETE TRILOGY

Julia Abbot and Ryan Matthews have been in separable best friends since the moment they met. Each of the fight an internal battle, unwilling to risk their incredible friendship, but unable to quell their deep (but secret) longing for the other. On the verge of Ryan's departure to Harvard Medical School and Julia's for her new job on the opposite coast, they are forced to face the undeniable truth of their deeper feelings and find themselves enthralled in a passion like neither has ever known.
The lovers are faced with forced separation, great distance, and others who try to come between them as they work to build the shared future they both dream of. When their lives begin to finally gel, Julia is offered a promotion that will jettison her career to new heights. Ryan is left angry and bereft as it will only postpone their reunion yet again. In light of all she has sacrificed for him, he can hardly deny her, and Julia is faced with the most difficult decision of her life. Will she chose the chance of a lifetime or the love of her life?
An incredibly beautiful and heartbreaking romance, full of passion and intensity that will leave you spellbound and gasping for the next installment of Ryan and Julia's story..

Ryan and Julia have been friends forever. They both spent their college years denying otherwise, to themselves and each other. After Ryan is accepted to medical school in Boston, a childhood dream. He decides he can’t live without seeing her everyday. He wants her to move with him but does not want to risk exposing his feelings for her at the cost of their friendship. Julia is thrilled for Ryan, but knows she will be at a loss without him. She loves him deeply, but does not want to lose his friendship to a possible fling. They remain totally in love with each other, with out the other one knowing it.

There is only one thing I like better than a love story: a hot, steamy one. This first installment of the Remembrance Series by Kahelen Amyes is just that. At the foundation this is a really touching love story with sizzle to keep the pages turning faster.

Ryan is a young, handsome doctor to be. He is a bit too good to be true. He is sensitive, caring and loving. But, as with most men, does not have a clue. Kahlen does a beautiful job gently easing Ryan into reaching his full potential.

Julia is a very patient, loyal and talented girl. I was concerned at the beginning of the story she was going to be one of those heroines who throws away all her talent for the sake of love. Thankfully, Julia is a strong and thoughtful character through the whole book.

The supporting cast is wonderful. They could have done a better job of shaking some reality into these two, but were still very believable as family and friends. Julia’s girlfriends were diverse and all had something to cheer them on for. Aaron, Ryan’s brother is nicely portrayed as a little rougher around the edges than Ryan, making Ryan much more believable. Without his interactions with Aaron, he would indeed, be too good to be true.

The chemistry between Ryan and Julia burns through the pages as they continue to deny their true feelings for each other. Distance only turns smoke into flames as they continue to deny their feelings. After months of not seeing each other their need for each other grows too great and Ryan crosses the country to spend just a weekend with Julia. The discoveries they make about each other in that short amount of time left me breathless. Kahlen does a seamless job taking us down years of their long journey of friendship, loss, love, lust, regret and passion.

Ryan Matthews has everything he ever wanted. Close to graduation from Harvard Medical School and on the verge of marrying his gorgeous and accomplished girlfriend, Julia Abbott, his dreams are about to come true.

Julia is on the fast track as a fashion editor for a big New York magazine. Ryan plans to join her there to complete his residency at a major trauma center and all of their sacrifice is finally at it's end.

When tragedy strikes, their relationship is hurled into turmoil that leaves Ryan devastated as sorrow drives him to keep his distance, while Julia reaches out to find him again.

The second book of The Remembrance Trilogy follows Ryan and Julia's quest to rebuild their stunning past; an incredibly beautiful and heart-breaking romance, full of passion, intensity and truly immeasurable love. You'll be left spellbound, breathless and aching for more...

At the end of book one, The Future of Our Past, Ryan and Julia have struggled with their separation over Ryan’s years in medical school. Ryan is moving to New York City to finish out his residency so they can finally be together. Julia has been doing so well in her career at Vogue all these years, she has been offered an amazing opportunity in Paris. This would mean a longer separation. Although neither of them is thrilled with the idea of being separated for another year, they are moving forward with the plan. Until Julia gets some expected news and rushes to Ryan to tell him.

After reading the first book I was wondering how Kahlen was going to keep up the level of intesnsity she set. She accomplished it once again. These two people have this undying love that seems to defy everything fate has to throw at them. As their love intensifies so does the heat between them. She does a great job making every scene a page turner.

Ryan shows true strength. The situation really tests his love and devotion to Julia. He puts her needs before his own and is a real support to Julia. She is a mess. Not to give too much away, but she is having trouble with reality. Even in crisis she is still giving Ryan a run for his money. The rest of the family is more involved as the story line demands it. They are a dream family, supportive, caring and devoted.

I did find it odd that when Ryan described a significant event, he mentioned details I don’t think a normal man would have noticed. But then again Ryan is so ordinary man. It was difficult to see Julia is such a bad place. She was such a strong girl in the first book. I wanted to believe she would have dealt with the events better than she did. Given the severity of the situations I would have would expected more conflict between the families.

There are some developing side stories regarding the friends and family. I hope those storylines are continued on in third book of the series.

Despite the hardship of this book, the love shines through on the pages. The sex is still as hot and steamy when the pieces fall into place. This book was a real roller coaster. There were parts of the book where I had to actually fight back the tears. I’d like to think they stay in a happier place in, A Love Like This, the third book of the Remembrance Trilogy, with Ryan and Julia’s luck, I am not to sure. I can’t wait to find out.

Sneak Peak

My time here is dwindling. Everything around me – my body, the transition from winter to spring, the height chart marking the growth of my daughter, Emily – reminds me that the hourglass that is my life has only a few grains of sand left.

It’s my first thought this morning. I awoke early for a fundraiser, the Big Walk for March of Dimes. I start off with my daily routine. I jump in the shower, trying not to notice how much the droplets of water hurt my skin. The sting is too much this morning. I get out quickly, dry off and throw my hair in a simple ponytail at the base of my neck. I catch my reflection in the mirror and stare at myself for a minute.

Just a little longer? So I can watch Em grow up?

My mirror doesn’t have an answer for me.

"Come on, Em!" I call to my daughter. "Get your shoes on, before we’re late."

I turn away from the mirror, then hurry into the living room and grab Emily by the hand.

"You ready Em?" I ask. Whatever dread or fear I feel in front of my mirror fades at the sight of Em’s beautiful blue eyes.

She looks up at me with the biggest smile, and exclaims, "Yes!"

We hop in the car and head towards the Walk. My daughter’s eyes are glowing.

"Mama, this is going to be the best walk ever," she almost squeals in excitement. The innocence of my little angel never fails to humble me.

She doesn’t yet understand that this might be my last Walk with her.

"Yes, honey, this is going to be the best walk ever," I agree.

Mo's Heart
Miracle Interrupted #5
Edie Ramer
Released April 16th, 2013
Ebook
Gifted by: Author/Tasty Book Tours
Reviewed by: Lisa

Absolutely Charming!!  That is the first word that comes to mind after finishing MO'S HEART, book five in the Miracle Interrupted Series by Edie Ramer....Charming!!

The Mafia comes to Miracle, Wisconsin…

Mo Vincent, the owner of Mo’s Place, is in agony because his soon-to-be divorced sous-chef is dating – but not him. He has his reasons for not asking her out. He did the right thing back in New Jersey, and it cost him his son, his wife, his restaurant. Now he’s found a home in Miracle. The village has accepted him, and his new restaurant is doing well. He should be content with what he has…but his heart wants more.

Chef Rosa Fabrini’s divorce is one signature away when her cheating husband returns home and expects her to forgive him. Her lawyer is AWOL, and her youngest son is demanding she take his father back. Desperate to escape the turmoil, she asks Mo to let her move into the empty apartment above the restaurant…right next to his place.

Mo can’t say no. His mind knows she’s forbidden fruit, but his heart dares to hope. Until his past shows up, and he finds out sometimes it takes a village…

I loved Mo...there...I said it!  He was just the kind of guy you would hope to find yourself married to and raising your children with.  Being a chef, you figure he has to have good hands...hee hee, and he loves his son, he has a sexy smolder about him, and he smells like good Italian food...I know sounds weird, but it's hard to get good Italian since I moved to the south.

I liked Rosa a lot!  A woman who knows she deserves better and makes a move for a younger man...She is the kind of woman I admire, strong, determined and knows what she wants!  And she has three sons....crap...that in itself is something to admire!

The town and town folk of Miracle were funny, sweet and made you feel like you were home.  I love when a series sucks me into the story that I feel like I am hanging out, eating Love Pies with Katie and the crew.

Yes, this is a romance about a couple who have both been married, both have kids and are finding love a second time around, well it was officially just supposed to be sex...but..ya know...Mo smells like good Italian food...I guess Rose just couldn't resist falling for him!

Fans of Robyn Carr's Virgin River Series will LOVE MO'S HEART!

Happy Reading!

About Edie

In my stories, miracles are interrupted…but sometimes a few sneak through. I like to think miracles happen in life, too. Part of the reason I feel this way is because I was weaned on fairy tales. But when my mother unleashed me into the aisles of my local library, I gravitated to Nancy Drew. I also devoured comic books about Wonder Woman and Super Girl. My penchant for strong heroines who don’t wait for men to save them is reflected in my books.
I started my writing career selling short stories for mystery magazines and anthologies. I’ve published quite a few paranormal romances and I’ve even tiptoed into the sci fi romance genre. Now I write contemporary romance with heart and attitude and magic. I love writing a magical realism series set in the small village of Miracle, Wisconsin. These are stand-alone books, and anything can and does happen. Everyone gets a chance to tell their story, from a cat to a young blogger to a young woman to young seniors.
I don’t think I’ll ever get bored with this series. I hope my readers feel the same way. My goal is to make readers laugh a little, cry a little, and feel happy a lot.
I live in southeastern Wisconsin with my husband, dog and a very special cat. You can follow me on my personal blog, my group blog, Magical Musings, Facebook and Twitter.
