He plays by the rules, she’s not afraid to break them. Now these two strong-willed army captains will prove that opposites attract . . .

Blurb

A by-the-book captain with a West Point background, Captain Evan Loehr refuses to mix business with pleasure—except for an unguarded instance years ago when he succumbed to the deep sensuality of redheaded beauty Claire Montoya. From that moment on, though, Evan has been at odds with her, through two deployments to Iraq and back again. But when he is asked to train a team prepping for combat alongside Claire, battle-worn Evan is in for the fight of his life.

Strong, gutsy, and loyal, Captain Claire Montoya has worked hard to earn the rank on her chest. In Evan, Claire sees a rigid officer who puts the rules before everything else—including his people. When the mission forces them together, Claire soon discovers that there is more to Evan than meets the eye.

He’s more than the rank on his chest; he’s a man with dark secrets and deep longings. For all their differences, Evan and Claire share two crucial passions: their country and each other.

In all honesty, I liked UNTIL THERE WAS YOU, the sophomore romance from Jessica Scott, but I didn't LOVE it!  It was a bit different from BECAUSE OF YOU, Jessica's first romance that came out last November, which I truly enjoyed.  Maybe I was looking for that same kind of deep emotion that I got with BECAUSE OF YOU, and when I didn't feel as strongly towards Evan and Claire, my heart was slightly disappointed.

The storyline was well though out and the story flowed nicely, I guess I just never felt that connection with Evan or Claire.  The love/hate romance had been building between them for years, but we didn't get to see that, so when they fall in love, I felt it was a bit rushed.  But ladies, this is all MY opinion only, please don't shy away from reading the romance, especially if you are a fan of Jessica's.  Evan and Claire might just steal your heart!!

Jessica Scott still writes Army Romances like no one else can.  The descriptions are amazing, making you feel as if you are right there with the characters, at the honky-tonk bar, or on base waiting for assignment.  She took experience and went with it, and now has two published romances.  I'd say she is a rising star in the Romance Writing field!!

I would still recommend this romance to fans of a realistic portrayal of an Army Romance, and fans, or To-Be fans of Jessica Scott.  The romance is worth the read, and at only $2.99, you really can't go wrong.

WORTH THE WAIT........

Until There Was You
Kristan Higgins
Released October 25, 2011
384 Pages
Published by Harlequin

Firstly, I love everything Kristan Higgins. I love the emotion, I love the crazy characters, I love the story lines, how in depth they are and how descriptive the scenes. The thing I love the most though is the way she can take the story and make you feel as though you are right there with the hero and heroine, feeling what they feel, love, anger, heartbreak, everything!! And Until There Was You was no different.

Cordelia "Posey" Osterhagen was in love with Bad-boy,Liam Declan Murphy from the minute she first saw him strut down the hallway of their High School over twenty years ago. After the "Prom Incident" Posey never saw Liam again, he followed his High School love, Emma, to California where they got married and had a beautiful daughter.

Twenty years later, in walks Liam Murphy, still sexy bad-boy but a now widower and father of a beautiful fifteen year old Nicole. They two have been through alot in the last two years and being back in the town that Liam had called home for a while feels good. Minus all the dirty looks from girls he dumped, or the woman throwing themselves at him now. The only one giving him the cold shoulder is Ms. Cordelia (Posey) who he now notices not just as a kid, but someone who he might want to spend time with, especially if that time is spent horizontally. I won't tell you what happens between Liam and Posey, but I will tell you that you need to pre-buy this amazingly, heartwarming release by Kristan, that had me crying AGAIN...thank you...It is so worth the wait!!
