A TASTE OF SUGAR
Sugar, Georgia #3
Marina Adair
Released August 25th
Forever Romance

A blast from her past…

Charlotte Holden, Sugar’s favorite pediatrician, knows better than anyone that love only leads to heartbreak. Instead, she’s focused on creating the Grow Clinic, an outpatient center for children. All she has to do now is to host the best Founder’s Day Parade in the history of Sugar, Georgia, to win over a big-city donor. Easy as peach pie. Then sexy Jace McGraw blows back into town and utters those three words every woman dreads: we’re still married.

…leads to tantalizing trouble

Jace McGraw was making an offer on his dream business in Atlanta when he was told that his wife had some credit issues. Wait, his wife? The annulment went through years ago—or so he thought. He’d walked away only to keep his troublemaker reputation from ruining her dreams. But now that they have a second chance, Jace offers Charlotte a deal: he’ll grant a discreet divorce in exchange for 30 days and nights of marriage. Because this time he isn’t going to let her go without a fight.

“You can’t work here,” she said, angry that he hadn’t called to warn her he was coming home. He at least owed her that.

“Can and do.” He grabbed a rag off the hood of the car and wiped off his hand, then stuck it out. “Jace McGraw, Sugar’s newest resident mechanic.”

She swatted his hand away. “Since when?” Because Jace didn’t do home visits. And he didn’t stick around one place long enough to be a resident of anywhere.

“Since today.” He cupped the bill of his hat and pulled it lower on his head. “Let me guess, you’re here as the official Sugar welcoming committee. Where’s my pie?”

“What pie?”

“Pie? Something in a covered dish? You know, all those neighborly things people are supposed to do when someone comes to town.” He looked at her empty hands and then without a word his eyes dropped to her skirt and there went the other dimple—and her good parts. “Unless there’s something I can do for you, Charlie?”

The way he said her name in that low, husky timbre, almost whispering it while flattening the vowels, reminded her of a different time, a time when she naively thought he’d meant it. But she wasn’t that wide-eyed woman anymore. She knew what he was offering, and what he wasn’t capable of giving.

After all, once upon a time she’d been married to him. Yup, Charlotte Holden had fallen in love with and married the town’s biggest bad boy. Not that anybody except the two of them knew, since it had ended as fast as it had begun. But those few weeks as Mrs. Jace McGraw had been the most amazing of her life—and what had followed had nearly broken her.

“Yes,” she said. “You need to leave.” Because wasn’t that what he did best?

The briefest frown flashed across his face, and he grabbed some kind of wrench doohickey and busied himself with tinkering under the hood. “Wish I could, but it seems like my services are needed in Sugar for a bit.”

Charlotte didn’t know what hurt more, that he wanted to leave as much as she wanted him gone—which was ridiculous since him being here, during the most important time in her career, was a disaster waiting to happen—or that, after all the time she’d spent praying he’d come back to Sugar, he finally had. Only it wasn’t for her.

“That doesn’t work for me,” she said.

“Well, this isn’t about you. Now is it?” He wasn’t even looking at her but tightening some bolt inside the engine.

Which was a good thing since she was pretty sure her eyes went glassy at his comment, because at one time he’d made her believe that everything he did was for her. Including walking away from their marriage.

“I need to go. So if you could just point me in the direction of my keys.”

“See here?” Jace walked over to her car and squatted down. She did her best not to notice the way his jeans cupped his backside—tried and failed. He filled out a pair of Levi’s like nobody’s business. “Teeth marks. Looks like you got yourself a raccoon or possum problem.”

Seems she had lots of pest problems these days. “So can you just throw some new tires on it and I can be gone?”

“You don’t need new tires, what you need are new valve stems.” And wasn’t that just like a man, telling her what she needed. “Which for your sporty, two-door tiara on wheels is a special order. Imagine that.”

“So what you’re telling me is that I’m stuck here? With you. And my car won’t be ready until—”

“Best-case scenario, end of the week.”

She let out a completely undignified huff and resisted the urge to stomp her feet. She’d begged the universe for a way out of dinner, and apparently whoever was in charge of granting wishes had chosen today to listen.

She looked at her phone, considered calling Ben, and then realized she could only handle one man from her past at a time. Plus, he was on a date with the new nurse from radiology, which meant Charlotte was stranded. Something that must have shown on her face because Jace set the tool down and stepped closer—so close he was all up in her personal space, which did crazy things to her emotional space.

“I can take you home.” He looked at her buttons and back into her eyes. “Or I can take you across the street to the Saddle Rack and buy you a drink.”

Then he did something he hadn’t done in over four years, he cupped his palms around her hips and drew her to him, and damn it if she didn’t shuffle closer.

“Why would I let you buy me a drink?” she asked quietly, although her brain kicked off a hundred and one reasons on its own. The first being that was how their relationship had started.

Charlotte had been a stressed-out resident in Atlanta, lonely and so homesick it hurt, when she’d walked into a bar and seen Jace. He flashed her that bad-boy smile, bought her a drink, then another, and before she knew it he had sweet-talked her into his bed, then down to the Justice of the Peace.

“Because I think you could use a shot of something strong right now,” he said. “And we need to talk.”

“You lost the right to tell me what I need a long time ago. As for that talk you want, you’re about four years too late.”

“Not according to the great state of Georgia,” he said, and her stomach dropped. “Since legally we’re still married.”

About the Book

When it comes to caring for the furry residents of St. Helena, California, groomer and pet rescuer Shay Michaels can handle anything. Humans are another story, though—especially Deputy Jonah Baudouin. He’s the town’s resident superhero: upright, uptight, and jaw-droppingly gorgeous, even when he’s investigating complaints about Shay’s beloved foster animals. And that spells danger for Shay, a free spirit who can’t risk trusting the wrong person again.

Jonah and Shay have been circling each other ever since she came to town, and he’s running out of reasons to not kiss her senseless. But this deputy is a straight shooter with his eye on the sheriff’s badge. He can’t afford to get involved with Shay, a chaos magnet with luscious curves who’s liable to turn his career—and his life—upside down. He enforces laws. She breaks them—repeatedly. Keeping her out of trouble is becoming a full-time job…and it’s one he hopes is never going to end.

As a huge fan of the St. Helena Vineyard Series Romances from Adair, I was so excited to see that she was continuing on with the series by giving us the Baudouin Brothers (Frankie's Brothers, who you meet in AUTUMN IN THE VINEYARD), as the Heroes of St.Helena... Sheriff, Military Man and Bad-Boy Firefighter...can we say...Yes Please!

NEED YOU FOR KEEPS was a fantastic start to the series, with a heroine you'd be proud to call a friend, a hero who looks good in a uniform and a story line that keeps you smiling, and tearing us, as I did a few times throughout!

From a beginning that will have you cracking up (Silly Domino), to an end that will have your heart soaring (I still want to see this calendar they speak of), and all the in between, especially the slow and sexy kisses between Shay and Jonah, and the heartache with having to see these two dance around each other just hoping that Shay will finally find her own "Forever Home", well let's just say that Adair brings a lot of heart into NEED YOU FOR KEEPS.  Definitely a must read of 2015!

I love the idea of Shay, Harper and Emerson...I can't wait to see what Adair has in store for Shay's friends.  Fans of Jill Shalvis and Kristan Higgins will have a ball with this fantastic romance.

Welcome to the Big Leagues Marina, SUGAR'S TWICE AS SWEET is a Home Run!

As a long time fan of Adair's Contemporary Romances, such as the Helena Vineyard Series, I have come to appreciate the lovable characters and laugh-out-loud moments that I can expect each time I open one of her books, but SUGAR'S TWICE AS SWEET, was just a step above.  I can explain exactly what it was, maybe the Spark that ignited the moment that Brett see's Joie for the first time,walking down a stretch of highway, or the first time they truly make love underneath the stars...I was engaged from the first page, and from laughing one moment, to sighing, then my heart breaking...well...let's just say Adair put me through the ringer.

I loved the setting of the story, Sugar, Georgia, with a cast of characters that just made the book for me, starting with Brett's two brothers, Jace (Yum...can we say Tattooed) and Cal (Double Yum..He's a DILF), and yes they are BOTH getting a book (Happy Dance).  But for fans of Jill Shalvis' Lucky Harbor Series and Candis Terry's Sweet, Texas Series, you will appreciate the "Old Lady' love, with Hattie and her crazy crew...who manage to make things a bit difficult for Joie, and had me laughing in the meantime!

I thought the build up between Brett and Joie was perfect!  I enjoyed the scene's where they spent time together, and I was there for the ride, into first kiss and losing their hearts to each other.   Yes, my heart broke a bit, but Brett was all around a Great Guy and I so was crossing my toes that he would come out on top!

If you haven't read anything from Marina Adair, I sincerely suggest starting with SUGAR'S TWICE AS SWEET, released TODAY with Forever Romance, and then move on to the rest of her Contemporary Releases!!  You can always expect A Bumpy but Exciting Ride!!

I was thrilled to purchase FROM THE MOMENT WE MET, as a Kindle First Read last month, as I have been waiting to read baby sister, Abby DeLuca's romance after watching all of her brother's fall in love.  And lucky lady that she is...she got Jack "Hard Hammer" Tanner (I know...the nickname says it ALL).

Abby and Jack had a past, a "thing" in High School...which didn't exactly turn out great and a College "thing" which turned out even worse...and Abby wasn't planning to let Jack break her heart again...but she needs his "professional" help with a Project to kick start her career, but with her "meathead" brothers butting in, and the "ex" that just won't go away...even after his death...well...lets just say, these two getting together is far from easy!

I thought Abby and Jack were fabulous.  Adair writes with humor and heart, which are two things you can always expect from her St. Helena Vineyard series.  Gus was just so much fun, and he definitely added a special "charm" to the story.  But Jack is really the one to steal the show for me...he is just sexy with a capital "S" and a whole lot more.  I love when a hero is so into the heroine that he is willing to do whatever it takes (even blackmail) to get the girl!

Not only do I recommend this New Release, but I would encourage you to start at the beginning and get to know the whole DeLuca clan.  Who doesn't love a big Italian Family that will charm their way into your heart and keep a hold on those strings long after you have turned the last page.

Sometimes forever is as easy as coming home …

For Trey DeLuca, the idea of settling down was entirely unsettling. As VP of sales for his family’s wine company, he’s never in any one city—or with any one woman—for long, which is how he likes it. But when family obligations keep him temporarily grounded in his hometown, he finds the perfect distraction. She’s sweet, gorgeous, and sexy as hell … only her life screams commitment.

Between raising her son and struggling to keep her dance school afloat, Sara Reed has her hands full. Dance students she needs—a steamy tangled sheets cha-cha with a self-admitted commitment-phobe? Not going to happen. But sparks fly as the town prepares for a big Valentine’s Day gala, and Trey strikes a deal with Sara … he’ll “manny-up” and watch her son in exchange for ballroom lessons.

With love quickstepping ever closer, Sara needs to teach this playboy some new steps or risk losing him—and her heart—forever.

~~~~~
Celebrate Valentine's Day a few weeks early with BE MINE FOREVER.  I was thrilled to be able to get an Advanced Copy of the fourth book in the St. Helena Vineyard Series by Marina Adair, because I am LOVIN the DeLuca brothers and Trey was the last to surrender to the Big Ole' "L"...Yes....I am talkin about LOVE!  And believe me, he didn't go down easy!
Well, the falling for Sara was the "easy" part, she made everything feel like being home, but it was the wanting to stay in one place that was the hard part!! This from a man who was the traveling "wine" salesmen...not one to stay in one place, which was the exact opposite of the widowed-single mother, who was finally settling down.  See where I am going with this...
Yes, I laughed, I cried, I laughed some more (the DeLuca Wives are hysterical, especially when they are pregnant, and Holly had me cracking up with her "Maternity Tea Parties".
Might I just say that Ms. Adair knows how to write a romance that will have your heart beating, melting, breaking and then healing!  Fabulous addition to the series!
If you haven't read the series, I suggest starting at book one so you have a chance to meet ALL the Sexy DeLuca brothers, BUT, if you are in the mood for a Sweet, Heartwarming, Valentines Day themed romance....grab BE MINE FOREVER today!!!
Frankie Baudouin has a hundred reasons not to trust Nate DeLuca. First, he’s a DeLuca. Second, he kissed her—in front of the entire town—and then never called. Oh, and he’s after her land. Sorrento Ranch is Frankie’s last chance to prove to her family—and to herself—that she has what it takes to be an award-winning winemaker. And she will stop at nothing to ensure her success—even if it means playing nice with the starched, sophisticated, and oh-so-sexy Italian.
For Nate, Sorrento Ranch is more than just soil and grape vines; it was his father’s dream—a dream Nate is determined to make a reality. So when he finds himself forced to cohabitate with a hot-headed, irrational, and incredibly gorgeous Baudouin, Nate is surprised to discover that chaos could be so much fun—especially when she sleeps in nothing but lace.
Ahh...I absolutely LOVED AUTUMN IN THE VINEYARD.  I think it is definitely my favorite so far in the St. Helena Vineyard Series by Marina Adair, and that is saying A LOT, cause these Romances contain some Smooth-Talking, Sexy, Smoldering Italian Men...and Nate is the Sexiest of the bunch...especially with that FINE BEHIND!!
Frankie was fabulous.  She had a HUGE heart, a Tough Girl Exterior with "DO NOT ENTER" practically written across her forehead, but a marshmallow center that Nate was trying (if not for the last decade) to get to, but breaking those walls was TOUGH!
Their chemistry was off the charts SEXY....the sparks were practically flying from the pages!  But the best part was the quiet moments where Frankie just let Nate be there, and they both were able to let down their guards.  Those sweet moments stole my heart.
And who wouldn't LOVE Mittens...such a cute addition to the story and I can't wait to see more of Frankie and Nate in the next installment of the St. Helena Vineyard Series, which is BE MY FOREVER, Ladies-Man Trey DeLuca's Romance...Should be fun to see him fall!!
I for one am hoping that Marina gives Tanner and Abby a romance next...THAT should be a bumpy ride!!
Great Series, Great Characters and a whole LOTTA heart!!
Put this on your SUMMER TO-READ LIST! Review of SUMMER IN NAPA by Marina Adair and ARC Giveaway @atastyread #giveaway
Summer in Napa
St. Helena Vineyard #2
Oh My...Marco DeLuca...Where have you been all my life?  If you are looking for a Romance filled with meddling families, hysterical one-liners and a sizzling sexual attraction...well SUMMER IN NAPA is it!
Six months ago, New York restaurant owner Alexis “Lexi” Moreau walked in on her husband, Jeff, and their sous chef mixing business with pleasure. Now, Lexi is back in her hometown of St. Helena, California, rebuilding her life and hoping to turn her grandmother’s patisserie into the bistro of her dreams. All she needs is luck, lots of hard work, and a way to avoid the thirty blind dates her matchmaking grandmother arranged.
Enter Marco DeLuca — Jeff’s handsome, commitment-phobe best friend who has always had his sights set on Lexi. In high school, Marco convinced himself that Lexi was off-limits. And she still is, especially since Marco’s family’s wine business all depends on a deal with Jeff. But a fake summer romance is the perfect way for Lexi to distract the would-be suitors her grandmother has set up for her. A perfect way for Marco to realize she’s the only one that ever mattered. And a perfect way to fall deliciously in love.
SUMMER IN NAPA was such a fun read!  Marina Adair throws you into this town called St. Helena, where the family fueds run deep and the "Nonna's" love to play matchmaker!  I think I had the most laughs because of the "Nonna's, Pricilla and ChiChi had me wishing that I was one of their grandkids.
My Handle is HotBuns, one word with the circled little a before it, if you want to follow me.  I'm up to seven thousand followers. - Nonna Pricilla
I am a sucker for a "Family" series, where we get to see many of the same characters in each book.  I love the family dynamic of the DeLuca Family, the four big brothers and their sister Abby, who you meet in the first book of the series KISSING UNDER THE MISTLETOE, which I have to read now by the way, cause I am nosy like that, and need to be in on ALL the gossip in St. Helena...I know...I should hangout with the Nonna's.
Our heroine, Lexi Moreau, comes home after her ex is remarried and just wants to get her life back together, when all her grandmother wants to do is set her up with EVERY available man in town.  Marco, who just so happens to be her ex's best friend, but also the man who has been in love with Lexi since they were fourteen, has offered to "Stand in as her man" to keep the ladies off Lexi's back, while she tries to get the plans for her bistro up and running.
She used to consider herself a romantic.  Not anymore. She'd been there, done that, already returned the T-Shirt.
But, there are some MAJOR MAJOR obstacles in her way, and Marc might just know what some of them are, but when it comes to Lexi, he seems to lose his brain every time he is around her, so there are somethings that he might have forgot to mention to her, until its TOO late!
Lexi and Marc have a chemistry that heats up the kitchen, the bedroom and I think even the bathroom mirror was fogged!  Adair writes a couple who you will be cheering for from the beginning and just waiting for that first kiss...OMG...I was SITTING ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT DYING FROM THE SEXUAL TENSION!!!
And just from the small tidbits here and there, I know the next few books in the series are gonna be GOOOOOD!!  I want me some Hard Hammer Tanner...Oh baby!  Can't wait to see what's next in the St. Helena Vineyard Series...It will be on my TBR list for SURE!!!
