In Second Chance, the fifth book of the LCR Series, we get to watch Cole Mathison, the protector, fall in love with Keeley Fairchild, the widow of the man he was forced to kill while captured and on mind-altering drugs.  He is also working the case, or put himself on the case to help find Keeley's twin four year-old daughters, Hailey and Hannah.

Let's just say that if you were not already in love with Cole from No Chance, then you will fall completely in love with him in Second Chance.  I truly enjoyed the build-up of emotion and sexual tension between Cole and Keeley and when they finally let go..watch out...talk about explosion...wow!!  The fight within him to keep away from Keeley, knowing that when she finds out that he was the man who killed her husband, she wouldn't have wanted to find herself falling for him...but they just can't seem to keep their hands off of each other....and I loved every minute of it.

The villains weren't as horrible as Christy normally writes, but they were still evil and vindictive.  I hate when the villain is right under their nose and the time is running out...always gets my heart racing.  Christy has a way of writing that always makes me want to jump into the story and kick some ass.

The best part of the book, aside from the wonderful, emotional romance, was hanging out with Eden and Jordan and Shea and Ethan again...and I sure did enjoy Shea giving Keeley a small piece of her mind...hee hee...hormones!!

This was a great addition to the series and I can't wait to finish Last Chance so that I can re-read the "Sweet" Trilogy, which is the last three books in the Last Chance Rescue series.

I hope you have all got your LCR books on your e-reader and are following along with the series, or have pulled them off the shelves and re-read them again along with me.  This is a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED series!!

Enjoy and Happy Reading!!
