SWEET OR SPICY REVIEW TOUR: INAPPROPRIATE THOUGHTS by Ian Dalton @tastybooktours #giveaway

The first in a new erotic contemporary romance series, Inappropriate Thoughts is a scorching mix of desire, sex, love and slightly inappropriate comedy.

Jillian Grayson is a disillusioned divorcée and best-selling romance novelist who can't write a chapter without her hunky male heartthrob suffering ED, an STD, or even worse. Brian Nash is a tennis-obsessed, college senior who's unlucky in love and the roommate and best friend of Jillian's son, Rob. When Rob brings Brian home for spring break and he meets the surprisingly young and also tennis passionate Jillian, their shared interest quickly develops into an intense mutual attraction. After nearly giving in to their feelings, they hatch a plan, while under the influence (of something more than just the perfect Miami night), to be friends with "partial" benefits complete with rules to define the boundaries. Will the lonely pair continue with this distinctive relationship, actually explore their desires or will they discover all of it is a really bad idea?

READER ADVISORY:
This story contains content some readers may find objectionable, including explicit sex and language.

Inappropriate Thoughts is a more explicit version of Friends with Partial Benefits

First, I had no idea what Inappropriate Thoughts was about before I began reading it. These days it's so rare for this to happen that it was a new experience in and of itself. How often do you have the opportunity to read a book without having read the jacket or blurb first? So I went into this nearly blind, and have to say, I liked that. That meant, for me, the story and characters began from nothing.

I liked Jillian right off the bat; coming home to find your husband in a compromising position with another woman in your pool could really throw you for a loop, but Jillian kicked his butt out of the house, so I developed sympathy, and respect, for her immediately. Also, we are of an age, and as an aspiring author I have also found it difficult to write romance when I am, er, annoyed with my husband. (Thank goodness that doesn't happen often, right?) I found her friend, Victoria, quite entertaining, if a bit much at times. Who among us hasn't had that one wild friend who can talk us into doing the occasional crazy thing? And when her son brings home his friend, a hot college senior, well...I was cheering her on.

It took me a little longer to warm up to Brian. At the beginning he seemed a bit pathetic; kind of a dork, really. His friends made fun of him for mooning about after a girl who was just stringing him along.

The romance between Jillian and Brian developed over time, and I liked the way the tension between them was built. This was handily interspersed with Victoria's wild sexual escapades to satisfy the reader's need for erotica in this erotic romance.

However, I would have liked to see deeper character development and emotion. I often felt as though we were just scratching the surface, to the point that I was taken by surprise when things worked out the way they did.

The age difference between the two was handled well, though, and I finished the book feeling a sense of satisfaction.

All in all, I found this to be an entertaining erotic romp, with a plot to build sexual tension and keep me reading; if you have the chance to read it, check it out. I thought it was interesting that this is a more explicit (much steamier) version of the book Friends with Partial Benefits, published under the name Luke Young. I haven't read that one yet, but I have to say-- I like the steamy version. :)

About Ian Dalton

Authors of contemporary and erotic romance, Luke Young is Ian Dalton - well, sort of… Ian Dalton is Luke Young’s erotic alter ego. Don’t read this to say that Luke’s stories are anything less than steamy, but there’s still some of the erotic play-by-play that is left to the imagination. With the Ian Dalton editions, nothing is left to the imagination. Well, almost nothing, anyway. In essence, Each book on the Luke side has an expanded version available on the Ian side.

His Friends With… Benefits and Victoria Wilde series are based on the same laugh out loud stories with the Ian versions containing about 7000 words (around thirty pages) of more explicit and expanded sex scenes. So whether you like your contemporary romance regular or extra spicy, he thinks he has something for you.

Welcome Guest Reviewer, Kerrie

A lifelong reader, I have been fortunate to be among Lisa's Avon Addicts sisters. The past year of being a part of that group has shown me my love of books can develop into something more. The opportunity to review and help promote the work of other writers has been priceless, and someday I hope to count myself among them. A stay-at-home-mother of two school-age children, I am currently working on my first novel, a contemporary romantic suspense. My creative muse is helped along by my other hobbies: scrapbooking, baking, running, and participating in triathlons.
