I came across this novella while browsing the Entangled Publishing Site.  The storyline intrigued me and the book was ONLY $.99 at Amazon, so I took a chance.

It was a VERY quick read, and I though it started out very funny, but some of the conversations between the Hero and Heroine were a bit strange, it would be sexual innuendo one minute and then they would be talking about the weather.

Noelle "Nellie" Gregory had been in love with her best friend's brother, Jake Conroy, since she was a child.  As they grew up, Jake finally noticed how beautiful Nellie had become, but he started dating Maureen "Mo" and he had been with her for the last five years, until she broke up with him.  He kind of disappeared for a while and Nellie had missed all the time they used to spend together.  So she decides that this New Years, she is going to seduce Jake into being with her, even if it's only once, she wants to be with him.  But her plan goes to crap when she is carjacked on her way back to her apartment from the department store.

There were some parts of the book that were almost left unfinished, and I would have liked to see drawn out a bit more, like the grandmother's pictures, almost losing her job, his break-up with Maureen and why he disappeared.  I felt as though the book could have been longer, the hero and heroine were given some challenges and then a few pages later, they were all cleaned up.  I would have LOVED to get more out of this book, more story, more pages, more of Nellie and Jake.

So my recommendation is purchase the book if you want a quick, cute Holiday read, but don't expect a deeply emotional read.  and it's only $.99 cents, so you can't go wrong with the price!!  And I'll give an additional point for the fact that my big sister's name is Maureen and we call her "Mo", so it was nice to see her name used in a book.
