Thrilled to have had the opportunity to read DEVIL'S GAME early.  After reading REAPER'S LEGACY, I needed (NEEDED) to find out what happened in the bedroom with Liam "Hunter" and Em.  And I have to say...not disappointed AT ALL.

I will say, it was a bit tame compared to REAPER'S PROPERTY and REAPER'S LEGACY, but I liked the romance and the softer side of the bad-ass Devil's Jack.  I wanted Em to find someone who gave a shit about her...not about who her dad was or what he could get out of it, but someone who cared about Em the woman, and Liam...well he fit the bill alright, yes, he was just....yum!

I have to say, Joanna writes one of the funnest MC Series, cause the story lines are never boring, the characters are real, and the one liners are legendary!  I have such a great time reading this series, and especially DEVIL'S GAME, cause I really liked Em's character and I just wanted her to find a little bit of sunshine among all the fog!  Oh...and I wanted the poor girl to GET HER SOME...Finally...Poor thing! haha

Another GREAT addition to the REAPERS MC Series, and Joanna girl...KEEP EM COMIN!! So excited for Picnic's Book coming this fall.

I was thrilled to purchase FROM THE MOMENT WE MET, as a Kindle First Read last month, as I have been waiting to read baby sister, Abby DeLuca's romance after watching all of her brother's fall in love.  And lucky lady that she is...she got Jack "Hard Hammer" Tanner (I know...the nickname says it ALL).

Abby and Jack had a past, a "thing" in High School...which didn't exactly turn out great and a College "thing" which turned out even worse...and Abby wasn't planning to let Jack break her heart again...but she needs his "professional" help with a Project to kick start her career, but with her "meathead" brothers butting in, and the "ex" that just won't go away...even after his death...well...lets just say, these two getting together is far from easy!

I thought Abby and Jack were fabulous.  Adair writes with humor and heart, which are two things you can always expect from her St. Helena Vineyard series.  Gus was just so much fun, and he definitely added a special "charm" to the story.  But Jack is really the one to steal the show for me...he is just sexy with a capital "S" and a whole lot more.  I love when a hero is so into the heroine that he is willing to do whatever it takes (even blackmail) to get the girl!

Not only do I recommend this New Release, but I would encourage you to start at the beginning and get to know the whole DeLuca clan.  Who doesn't love a big Italian Family that will charm their way into your heart and keep a hold on those strings long after you have turned the last page.

I grew up in New England surrounded by a lot of history and story telling by my father who was from the Mid-Coast of Maine.  What I remember of my mother was her love of fairy tales, the wee people and poetry. So it’s no wonder I would one day write.

When I am not writing, I read. Of course I love Romance but can’t read the same genre that I write so I read mysteries, memoirs and history… I love history, especially Medieval and WWII.  I don’t generally watch TV but I love Downton Abbey.

My favorite authors… Mmmm, well let me see. Jane Austen, the late Elizabeth Peters, LM Montgomery, Loretta Chase, J.R.Ward , Sharon Kay Penman and Pamela  Kaufman to name a few that come to mind.

What do I do when I am not writing? I am a mother of seven, four still at home. I have a home filled with pets, four dogs and six cats. I write seven days a week.

A Tasty Read: What is your writing environment?

Amara Royce: I find that I write best when I’m alone and have music playing. So I tend to write at night after my family has gone to bed. Generally, you can find me writing in one of two spots: 1) curled up on the couch with my laptop or 2) at my antique writing desk. If I hit a rough spot or encounter writer’s block, it helps for me to change my surroundings.


ATR: Who is your perfect hero/heroine? Why?

Amara: This is so hard for me to answer—because for me it’s a situational thing.


ATR: Which authors have caught your interest lately? Why?

Amara: I am excited to read Sonali Dev’s debut novel A BOLLYWOOD AFFAIR, which will be released in October. I’ve read some advance snippets and recommendations from fellow authors, and I can’t wait!


ATR: What type of book have you always wanted to write?

Amara: Sometime in the future I want to write an epic historical novel, a sweeping kind of romance that ranges across continents and generations to capture a love that never dies.


ATR: Top 3 things on your bucket list

Amara:

Visit London.

Work at Disney World.

Learn to play piano.


ATR: How did you get the idea for this particular novel?

Amara: I’m interested in London’s Great Exhibition of 1851, which was intended to be an international affair and included objects from a wide range of countries. After writing my previous book, NEVER TOO LATE, I decided I wanted to write a non-British heroine in Victorian London. While writing NEVER TOO LATE, I came across some Japanese artwork (ukiyo-e), and the starting pieces fell into place.


ATR: What is your favorite scene in your newest release?

Amara: Well, my very favorite scene is a spoiler so I can’t describe it, but I think my second favorite scene is the epilogue. What can I say? I love a happy ending.


ATR: What is the last movie you watched and loved?

Amara: I wouldn’t say I loved it, but I was very pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed CAPTAIN AMERICA 2: THE WINTER SOLDIER! It’s probably my favorite of the Avengers movies.


ATR: What would you consider a “perfect date”?

Amara: A day in New York City exploring museums, seeing a show, having a gourmet dinner, and then chatting for hours about the highlights of the day over some wine.


ATR: What are you currently working on?

Amara: I’m currently writing book 3, tentatively entitled NEVER WITHOUT LOVE. It is set in the same time and place as my previous two books, but it can be read independently. NEVER WITHOUT LOVE features a 40-something widow, whose elopement with a virtual stranger 20 years ago had far-reaching economic and political effects on her hometown. Returning 20 years later to care for her ailing grandmother, she faces the long-simmering anger of this close-knit community and happens to find out some disturbing realities about some local businesses. As she tries to make things right, she finds a surprising yet irresistible ally: the brother of the man she jilted so many years earlier.

Amara Royce writes historical romances that combine her passion for 19th-century literature and history with her addiction to happily ever afters.

She earned a PhD in English, specializing in 19th-century British literature, from Lehigh University and a Master's degree in English from Villanova University, and she now teaches English literature and composition at a community college in Pennsylvania.

When she isn't writing, she's either grading papers or reveling in her own happily ever after with her remarkably patient family.
