And I will admit it....I cried AGAIN reading a Vivienne Lorret romance...

WHEN A MARQUESS LOVES A WOMAN is exactly what we have all been waiting for, and Vivienne couldn't have written it ANY better.  Max and Juliet slowly let go of the enemy status and move quite nicely into the lover status...and OH MY was that first tryst HOTTTTT!  Vivienne might not write smutty overly graphic sex scenes, but she knows how to make her scenes erotic in their own right.  Oh my...(fans herself), Max and Juliet burned up the pages and that whole scene in itself was UTTERLY romantic.  I can't help but swoon every time I read one of Viv's romances.

When independence meets insecurity and a past that didn't quite end well in Max (or Juliet's) favor, you get a wonderfully fun historical romance that will capture the readers attention from page one...I am not sure I put the book down.  

I absolutely loved the ending, and "Bram" ugh, he got EXACTLY what he deserved.  Poor Patrice, I hope she gets a step-mother who is more caring than her miserable father.  

I am SOOOO hoping that Ellery and Gemma are getting a book, they would make quite the match!

So I officially can say that I absolutely loved THIS EARL IS ON FIRE!  Liam and Adeline were just the right amount of push and pull to keep my clinging to my kindle!  Lorret continues to prove that she is a talented story teller who brings the magic back to historical romance!

Adeline is in London with her family for her first time in society where she wants to experience exciting adventures.  The Pimms come to find a bloodied and bruised man in the doorway of their rental for the season, and they take him in and start to nurse his wounds.  From that moment, Adeline feels a certain skip in her heart....and it's denial, denial, denial from that moment on, as she never intends to marry and she will never be pitied or coddled again.  

The sweet sound of Adeline's voice is the one thing that keeps the pain at bay for Liam, and the more time they spend together, the more they banter and the more the heat flares between them.  You can literally see the sparks ignite when they are in the same room...and you will never think of porridge as sexy until you read this book!

The flow of the story is slow building, as a bit of mystery starts to build in the story, but I simply adore the way that Vivienne is able to write characters that feel so real, almost as if you are transported back in time, joining the ladies for an afternoon tea, or taking a turn about the room at one of the Dower Duchesses parties.

I can't tell you enough how much I am loving the Season's Original series, and the group of friends that we encounter throughout each title.  I loved the backstory of Liam and Adeline, two people who basically want the same things, for different reasons and they fight the feelings they have for each other at every turn.  I literally cried through the whole last few chapters!

OK....my suggestion is to buy THIS EARL IS ON FIRE....and you might want to grab THE DEBUTANTE IS MINE as well....and even the Holiday Anthology, ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS A DUKE, where we get Ivy and Vale's romance, THE DUKE'S CHRISTMAS WISH.

THE DEBUTANTE IS MINE is deeply romantic and utterly charming...I was literally swept away by the engaging story line and intriguing cast of characters.  I can always count on Vivienne Lorret to get me out of my reading funk, but THE DEBUTANTE IS MINE is one of the best romances of 2016.

For those of you who are followers of my blog from the beginning know how much I love heroes named Jack.   From Jack Travis (SMOOTH TALKING STRANGER by Lisa Kleypas), to Jack Bowman (THREAD OF FEAR by Laura Griffin) and I can't forget Jack Pallas (SOMETHING ABOUT YOU by Julie James).  These Jack's have gained a new member in the Sexy-Jack club with Jack Marlowe, hero of THE DEBUTANTE IS MINE.  From the moment we meet his character in the Season's Original Novella, THE DUKE'S CHRISTMAS WISH (from ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS A DUKE Anthology), you just can't help falling a little bit in love with him.  He comes off as an arrogant rake, but behind that smile is a lonely man, and from that small cameo, I knew his story was going to be good, but I wasn't expecting it to steal my heart!

Jack and Lilah are quite the pair.  He was asked to send her flowers to help entice other men to "see" her.  And she is in need of a titled husband, but can't stop herself from thinking about the "bastard" son of a titles gentleman.  Usually when I fall in love with a hero as much as I have with Jack, I don't want to like their heroine.  I don't want to believe that she is good enough for him, but Lilah...she was wonderful.  I wanted to cry for her, but she was so strong, and was willing to face her problems without being saved, and I loved that about her.  

The sexual tension crackles off the pages, the stolen kisses burn up the pages, and I won't even get started on how poetic it was when they finally come together.  And that ending...I think I cried with happiness.  (and the end with Dovermere....I couldn't wipe the smile from my face)

Vivienne Lorret is more than "an author to watch", she is the real deal and she deserves a place among the greats.  If you haven't already picked up one of her addicting romances...I urge you to start now.
