SPANISH LESSONS
Study Abroad #1
Jessica Peterson
Released January 25th, 2016

Vivian Bingley has big plans for her semester abroad in Spain…

Along with her BFF Maddie, Vivian hopes to indulge her inner Art History nerd by visiting the best museums in the world.  She also wants to tackle more practical concerns—like a less than stellar GPA in her major, Economics—with the help of a Spanish tutor.

But falling for her studly Spanish tutor definitely isn’t one of them.

Madrileño Rafa Montoya is the stuff study abroad dreams are made of: super studly and super smart.  He also happens to be super into Vivian.  With his wicked dancing skills and his passion for the arts, he tempts her to throw caution to the wind and live out her wildest dreams.

Only problem?  Maddie wants Rafa, too, and Vivian promised herself she’d never settle for second best again…not after a hookup-gone-awry last semester left her heartbroken.  Is it best for Vivian to protect her heart at all costs?  Or is letting Rafa in worth the risk?

SPANISH LESSONS is the quintessential feel-good, butterflies in the belly, first love, finding yourself New Adult Romance...And I still have the butterflies!

Rafa....even I fell in love with him at that first meeting over sangria and moonlight...swoon!  He ended up being all that you would want for a hero, supportive, kind and quite romantic.

I liked Vivian from the start.  I think I almost cried along with her during those first few pages, when she was feeling so lost after arriving in Spain.  I had been there when I went to Portugal one summer.  You want to bad to be able to express yourself and the communication is just "not there".  There are a few hicups along the way with Maddie, Vivian's best friend who is also in Spain for the semester, but Vivian learns to trust herself and Rafa, and that means being honest about what she wants. Wouldn't be a true new adult romance without a little drama, right?

When Rafa and Vivian finally get together....well you might just need a fan, because they are hot!  No...like HOTT!  If just them dancing together in the beginning brought fireworks, you will need to be putting out some fires once they hit the sheets!  WHOA!!

Peterson does an amazing job at scene building and describing the places and culture, it was so on point I almost felt as if I was there in a cab, on the street, embracing the magic!

If you are in need of a romance that will fill your heart and remind you of that feeling of first love...SPANISH LESSONS is that book!

Jessica Peterson began reading romance to escape the decidedly unromantic awkwardness of her teenage years. Having found solace in the likes of Mr. Darcy, Jamie Fraser (OMG love the gingers!), and Edward Cullen, it wasn’t long before she began creating tall, dark and handsome heroes of her own.

She lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband, Mr. Peterson, and her smelly Goldendoodle Martha Bean.
