HOLD ME CLOSE
O'Leary's #6
Shannyn Schroeder
Released July 21st, 2015
Kensington
Leave
it to the O’Learys to make romance a family affair…
Maggie
O’Leary is finally coming home to Chicago. After more than a year in Ireland,
she’s ready to make a plan for her future. But first, she’ll have to confront
the tragedy that scarred her so deeply. Asking for a job in the family bar is
the first step, and it’s one her family isn’t entirely happy about. At least
Shane Callahan, her best friend in the world, is behind her a hundred percent.
He’s also a hundred percent more lovable than she remembered…
Shane
is determined to keep Maggie safe, even if it means working three jobs and
giving up sleep to be around during her shifts at the bar. But when Maggie
boldly tells him she needs more than a loyal friend now, Shane knows a single
night together won’t be possible. The idea of spirited Maggie in his bed is
electrifying, but will she believe he wants to give her his heart, too?

I have to admit, I am a little sad to see a fun, and heartwarming series end. I have enjoyed the O'Leary's and their huge, loud, boistrous family and I will really miss them. Maybe Shannyn will write a set of cousins....
Anyway, I have been reading a few of the other reviews for HOLD ME CLOSE, and many of the readers say that Maggie was a bit brash and a little unlikable, but I am going to stick up for my girl here and say....well...she had been through A LOT, and sometimes you gotta be a bitch! I am certainly one for a good week every month (HAHA), but the hurt can sometimes transfer to pain, and why is it we can LOVE a grumpy, asshole of a hero, who treats the heroine like crap, but it's not ok for the heroine to be a little crappy on her end? (Food for Thought People!)
I for one thought Maggie was a true character that Schroeder wrote with superb skill, and delicacy. It's hard to work the boundries, but she balanced everything so well, and had the readers really being able to feel for Maggie...and give me more of the sweetness that is Shane Callahan ANYDAY!! Shane was a wonderful, super understanding character, and I am so happy that these two found their HEA together!
Always fun to be back with my O'Leary clan, and I definitely recommend the whole series if you are a fan of Belle Andre's Sullivans...the O'Leary's will keep you laughing and smiling!
