RUSH
Gina Gordon
Releasing May 12th, 2015

In this edgy, sizzling romance for fans of Monica Murphy and Abbi Glines, a bad boy shows a straitlaced law student how to slow down and savor the good things.

Everly Parker is about to graduate from law school, always busy, and can’t stop rushing through life. Her late grandmother left her a bucket list of meaningful, can’t-miss experiences, but she hasn’t completed a single one. Then searing-hot Max Levin bursts into her world. As a casting director for a porn production company, Max is loaded, cocky, and all wrong for Everly. Still, she’s tempted enough to cross the first item off her list: Go out with someone you’d never give the time of day.

Inheriting a porn empire isn’t every guy’s dream (well, actually, it probably is), but Max isn’t complaining. It’s just that until he meets Everly, he has no idea what he’s been missing. As the pressure mounts to take over the family business, Max can’t help wondering what would happen if he chose Everly instead. So far, his life has been a wild ride, but only Everly promises the greatest rush of all: love.

Welcome Gina Gordon to A Tasty Read Book Reviews

Hello! Welcome to A Tasty Read Book Reviews and thank you for your time. First of all, tell us something about yourself, both as a writer and as a person.

Hi Roberta! I’m Gina Gordon and I write sexy, contemporary adult and new adult romance. I love cupcakes and coffee (recently, my Starbucks addiction has been trumped by the introduction of Tim Hortons’ dark roast coffee), you will never read a romance book with my name on it that doesn’t have a happily ever after, and if I’m feeling sad there is one guaranteed way to cheer me up… send me a pic of a funny animal.

How/when did you realize you wanted to become a writer?

I’ve wanted to be a writer my whole life. My first memory of writing is scribbling poetry in a notebook while waiting for my mom to pick me up at the before and after school program. My dream came true in 2010 when my first short story was published.

Let’s speak about “Rush”. We’ve read the synopsis but can you tell us a little more about what the book is about?

At first glance, most people will think Rush is about porn. While the hero does work in porn and it does play a certain part in the plot, it’s not the main focus. Rush is about learning not to judge a book by its cover and two characters who are searching for happiness and fulfillment and find it in each other.

How did you come up with the idea and how did you create the characters?

I wanted to write something completely different, something out of my comfort zone that might not ever see the light of day. I knew writing about a hero who worked in porn was going to give readers immediate perceptions about his character, so I decided to turn the stereotype on its head. Max Levin isn’t your typical “porn guy” and I paired him with Everly, his complete opposite.

If you should describe your books in three words, what would you pick?
Authentic
Sexy
Flirty

Do you have any favorite authors and did they influence your choice of the genre?

I love Lorelei James. If you haven’t read her Rough Riders series yet, you should. While everything about her characters and voice is inspiring, I was already writing contemporary romance when I discovered her books. I also love Monica Murphy, Jay Crownover, and Christina Lauren.

What else do you enjoy doing, when you’re not writing?

I love reading, it’s how I spend most of my free time when I’m not writing or at my day job. I also binge watch Netflix. I’m always looking for a new show to fall in love with. Now that I think about it, considering all of my favorite past times involve sitting, I should probably take up a sport.

As a writer do you get support from your family and friends?

I’m very lucky to have a supportive circle of family and friends. I’m also really lucky to have made writer friends who feel the same pain and experience the same joy that comes with being a writer.

What are your dreams and plans for your future as a writer?

My plans for the future are pretty simple--just keep writing. I want to live a life where I can continue to put my characters to paper (or screen). I have so many more stories to tell.

Would you like to say something to the readers to encourage them to read your books?
