The Governess Club Books One & Two

Sweet Sara Collins is one of the founding members of the governess club. But she has a secret… She doesn’t love teaching. She’d much prefer to be a vicar’s wife and help the local community. But this quiet mouse doesn’t want to upset her friends, and she resolves to help in whatever ways she can.

Nathan Grant is the embodiment of everything that frightens Sara. Which is why she can’t understand why the handsome but reclusive and gruff man is so fascinating to her. When Sara decides it’s time to take a chance and experience all that life has to offer, Nathan is the first person she thinks of.

Will Sara’s walk on the wild side ruin her chances at a simple, happy life? Or has she just opened the door to a once-in-a-lifetime chance of passion?

Name:
Nathan Grant
Age:
Seven and twenty years
Rank/Peerage or Occupation:
I have a seat in the House of Commons. Had a seat. I resigned it before moving to Windent Hall. I don’t want to get into details about that.
Physical Description:
I am tall with shaggy blond hair. My eyes have been called ice blue because of how cold they can be. I have a limp on my left leg and I use a black cane with a gold wolf’s head.
Likes:
Sex. Whisky. Sara. Not necessarily in that order.
Dislikes:
Hypocrisy, especially now that I have seen it in myself. Dishonesty. Being away from Sara. Anything that hurts Sara.
Relationship Status:
Betrothed to Sara.
Typical Evening Out:
I usually don’t go out. People have a hard time getting to know me, so it’s easier to stay home. With Sara. And that’s just fine with me. Her friends have accepted me, so I usually spend time with them at Ridgestone, if I have to leave Windent Hall at all. If I do go to public events, I prowl along the outskirts,, watching for Sara and keeping everyone else at a distance.
Drink of Choice:
Whisky. Or brandy.
Favorite Food:
Cornish pasties, ever since Sara ate one from my fingers at the Spring Fair.
Favorite Book:
I don’t read much, but I have to brush up on my agriculture knowledge. I am going to give being a gentleman farmer a go.
Favorite Dance:
I don’t dance. My leg doesn’t fully function, remember?
Best Memory to Date:
Teaching Sara how to swim. Or the first time she laughed in our bed. Both are good.
Words to live by:
Carpe diem.

I loved the first person excerpt with Nathan Grant. Sounds like he and Sara really enjoy each other's company. I'm looking forward to reading this book. Thanks for the post today! jdh2690@gmail.com

I think maybe Nathan. They both sound really appealing, though! I love historical heroes. ;)
