Promotions director Reese Regan isn’t a sex goddess and doesn’t want to be. But the job of her dreams requires enrollment in the renowned Sex Goddess 101. To avoid a trip to the unemployment line, Reese must pass the program and become Chicago’s next seductress—or at least fake it convincingly.

Her best friend, the ruggedly sexy contractor Ben Hawk, helps her “fake” her way through the program, and the heat between them flares. When trust is broken and secrets are revealed, it appears they’ve traded years-long friendship for temporary passion. Will faking something so important cost them their chance at something real?

On my list of Favorite Romance Themes, Friends to Lovers is right behind my favorite, which is Second Chance Romance.  This "Friends to Lovers" romance was so much fun to read.  Reese had been in love with Ben for years, but after a hook-up gone wrong, they decided to just remain friends, but his brother, Mark, was available to pick up the pieces of Reese's broken heart, and six year later, he was willing to do it again.

Ben's point of view was so much fun to read, especially when he talks about his feelings for Reese, and when he has his jealous moments...he was just too cute.  I love getting the heroes POV in a romance, and Lexi did an amazing job and making me fall for him, one page at a time.

“I think I’m going let Mark take me out.”

His jaw ticked. “Don’t be stupid, Reese.”

“Wha—”

He cut her off with his mouth. He cupped her face in his big palm and brushed his lips across hers. He was warm and gentle.

And from the first brush of his lips, she wanted more.

Maybe tomorrow she’d blame the tequila or maybe she’d blame the lingerie shopping or the dirty stories she’d been logging into her notebook, but she moaned against him, loving the feel of his mouth, the light scratch of his scruff. Ben was so painfully male. A hot and delicious, long-denied craving.

Ben slanted his mouth over hers and slipped his tongue inside. He tasted like beer. Like male. Like something wicked and addictive. He wasn’t one of those rushed and sloppy kissers. He kissed like it was making love. Like he had all the time in the world. Like his most important task was kissing her. It was a kiss she’d known once and had never forgotten.

He slid his hands under her jaw and into her hair.

Reese grabbed a fistful of his shirt in her hand and pulled him closer, thinking of his eyes on her in the dressing room, thinking of the only other night they’d kissed.

He slid a hand behind her ass and lifted her, pressing her between the wall and his body and nestling his hard-on right between her legs. She gave a moan of approval and rubbed her tongue against his, exploring his mouth for all she was worth. She reached around his neck and slipped her fingers into his hair, tugging gently. Groaning, he pressed himself even closer to her. She cursed the day denim was invented. She wanted closer, closer even as part of her brain told her this was a mistake, told her to end this before they ruined everything.

He tore his mouth from hers and latched onto her neck. Sucking, nibbling, tasting until her eyes closed and she arched into him.

His teeth grazed the shell of her ear. His breath was hot as he whispered, “I’ll be damned if I’m going to let my brother help you with the best parts of this program.”

Lexi Ryan writes a fun, very sexy, ugly duckling story, which catches your attention from page one and to be honest, kept me up until two in the morning. You can't help but cheer for a HEA for Reese, who is trying to find her inner Sex Goddess, using two very sexy brothers as bait...but which one will she keep?

I am sooooo excited for the rest of the series. I can't wait to see who Lexi matches up next? I am hoping to see Mark find his HEA...I am in LOVE with THE HAWK!!

*Giveaway*

Lexi is awarding a "Pamper your Inner Sex Goddess" gift basket (including: bath products, books from her backlist and candles - US ONLY) to one randomly drawn commenter, and a $25 Amazon or B&N gift card, winner's choice, to another randomly drawn commenter during the tour.

Oh well, I like it more if they have a rough start and then turn into lovers, like in 27 Dresses or Pride and Prejudice, which is my absolute favorite!

Oh, my goodness! I'm sorry I'm behind on my replies, you guys. I spent the morning writing new words and then took my mom to her birthday lunch. :)

Mary and Ingeborg, *waves* thanks for stopping by today. It's so nice to see your names each stop. :)

Pat, please do! The beautiful thing about a TBR list is that no matter how big it gets there's always room for more! :)

Lena, those are good ones! Thanks!

Ami, I haven't read (seen?) The Holiday. I'll have to check it out!

Jaye and MomJane, thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the excerpt!

Emiliana, LOVE ACTUALLY is one of my all time favorite movies! So many heart-tugging moments!

Anas, those are both so good! And Pride and Prejudice is timeless. My friend Marilyn Brant released a romance called Pride, Prejudice, and the Perfect Match. If you like P&P rewrites you should definitely check it out! :)

This book and series looks like a lot of fun! I've always enjoyed a story where the wallflower comes out of her shell and blows everyone (especially the guy) away.
