This is one of those books that you need to get past at least 25% of the book to really start enjoying the book.  I didn't feel any immediate connection to the main or secondary characters until I was further into the plot, which is fine,  I just didn't want anyone to start the book and give up too soon, cause you will be missing out a really good book.

Now, I normally wouldn't like ANY OTHER hockey-playing hero named Luc, since Luc Martineau is my FAVORITE Hockey-playing Luc, but...I will make an exception for Luc Baker, who turned out to be a great guy in my eyes.

Luc Baker and his half-sister, Victoria, head back to their childhood home to stop the union of their estranged father, Lyle Baker to who they think is a money-grubbing gold digger, Tara Jean Sweet, and she plays the part to a T.  Tara Jean was given an opportunity by Lyle and she was just following through on her half of the bargain.  But as the whole plan unravels, Tara Jean finds herself stuck between a rock and a hard place, or is it Luc's chest and the kitchen island?  Hummmmm....things are just getting heated up, but can these two scarred people break down the walls they both have built for so long, and actually let themselves feel things for each other?  Can they trust each other with their secrets or will they be too large to let go of?

So much happens in this New Release by Molly O'Keefe.  So many buried childhood secrets, so much hurt and pain run between these two people, who have found each other in a time of the worst circumstances.  Tara Jean finally starts to "Feel" again, which has her running for the hills every time her and Luc are in the same room together, or when he looks at her and tells her she is beautiful, and means it.

Aside from all the other drama, and craziness, I really enjoyed the building romance between Luc and Tara, and I think you will also enjoy the story, you just have to give it a chance.  I recommend this read and I look forward to starting the next book of the series, where Eli and Victoria have some sparks flying, and its not just out of anger..hee hee.

Happy Reading Ladies!
