NEW RELEASE

BLURB:

Ten years ago, an oil tycoon’s daughter and a farmer’s son shared a moment neither would ever forget. When she left town in disgrace, a piece of her stayed locked deep within his soul. And like the ground he tended, his emotions lay fallow for years. Cooper Gerhardt’s deeply buried feelings for Jo Ellen Rawlings grew more fertile over time, just waiting for the day she would return to release his deepest desires.

When she strolls back into Tommy Creek, Texas for her ten-year class reunion, Cooper shows her farmboy-style exactly what she missed by leaving. Starting a short-term affair is simply unavoidable. But when the week is over, can either of them let go of the responsibilities and apprehensions keeping them apart? Or will their fallow hearts learn to flourish together?

Excerpt:
With its bed loaded with toolboxes, the small vehicle hid under a thick layer of red dust. And behind the steering wheel sat temptation himself.

Her pulse lurched.

Unable to stop herself, she lifted the space a little wider in the window blinds and craned her head to see him better. For a moment, she lost sight of him as he drove around a corner. Then the engine of his UTV stopped and the cadence of boot heels striking against the Gerhardts’ concrete patio echoed through the front screen door, their rhythm telling her he was sauntering at a leisurely pace. Her stomach churned in anticipation.

Unexpectedly interested to catch her first glimpse of him for the day, she pressed closer to the window—the glass almost smashing her nose against the blinds—just as he stepped into her line of sight.

Even knowing how well he’d turned out, her mouth simply dropped. “Well, God bless Texas.”

In a dark t-shirt, dirty boots, a beat up straw cowboy hat, and greasy denim jeans held up by a huge belt buckle, he personified the perfect farm boy, the perfect man actually. Lust pooled warm and fluid in her limbs.

He paused, and Jo Ellen had to stand on her tiptoes and winch her neck just a little more awkwardly to continue seeing him. He took off his hat, revealing a head full of damp blond hair matted to his head. Helpless to control her eyes, she licked her lips as her gaze wandered south. My, oh my, but the man knew how to wear a pair of jeans.

With his hat off, he palmed the crown and used the back of his forearm to wipe at his sweaty face. Then he did the unthinkable. He paused at a water pump, which looked as if it might connect to an old-time, hand-dug well. Then he set his hat aside and pumped the lever a handful of times, the muscles in his arms and back bunching and shifting under his tight shirt. When water gushed from the spigot, he leaned down to stick his head under the stream.

Jo Ellen pressed her hand against her chest, hoping she didn’t have a heart attack before he was done because there was no way she wanted to miss the rest of this show.

The cool well water sluicing over his heated body made a slight steam rise around him and as wet cloth plastered itself to his torso. He drenched his hair, making it a shade darker than its usual light blond. After rinsing, he shifted his face around to the flow and opened his mouth, welcoming a nice, hearty drink.

Never in her life had Jo Ellen thought a man getting a mere drink of water could look so intoxicating. She watched his throat work as he swallowed. Then his eyes closed as he finished and he lowered his head to the spray again, obviously relishing his rinse down.

The Firemen get Hotter and HOTTER

Sex and the Single Fireman
The Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel #3
Jennifer Bernard
Releasing Jan 29th, 2013
384 Pages
Avon Romance
Source: Avon Addicts

Jennifer Bernard writes smokin hot burning...FIRES!!  Ha ha, No seriously...Bernard know the recipe for romance, Smokin Heroes + Hot Tempered Heroines = Burning Passion!!

Blurb

The toughest captain on the East Coast, single father Rick Roman has come thousands of miles to San Gabriel to put an end to the "Bachelor Firemen" media hype. But when a stunning woman he nearly hooked up with in Reno turns out to be a firefighter from his new station, Roman realizes it's going to be tough keeping the tabloids at bay.

But there's even more Sabina isn't telling him. Before dedicating her life to battling blazes, Sabina led a very different life, one that made her famous. The last thing she wants is to have her secret exposed. The papers, bloggers, and TV gossips will have a field day with that—especially when they sense the obvious sexual heat between Sabina and Chief Roman, who's torn between firing her...and falling in love with her!

If Jennifer Bernard keeps writing heroes like Roman...well...I guess I will just have to make room at the top of my favorite romance heroes list!

He had to call her right away and communicate this important message.  He snatched up his cell phone and punched her number. He'd figure out what to say once she answered.  Maybe something like You're mine, woman, all mine.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED SEX AND THE SINGLE FIREMAN!!  This series just keeps getting better and better and the firemen just keep getting hotter and hotter!

Sabina, or better known as Number Two, gives new Chief, Rick Roman, or better known as "Sexy Jeep Guy" a run for his money...or hers...since she was the child super star.  The storyline in SEX AND THE SINGLE FIREMAN is so much fun.  Sabina and Rick have so much sexual tension between them, and a jealous Rick is a sexy Rick!

I loved getting to know Rick better and to be able to see him interact with his thirteen year-old son, Luke, was funny, and charming.  Give him another ten years and Luke might just be a danger to women's hearts all on his own!  Who doesn't love a sexy firemen with a protective streak a mile wide and he can cook amazing Italian...I know...I'll fight you for him!!

Sabina had her own issues that just couldn't be hidden any longer and when they come out into the light...they SHINE BABY!!  Her mother, Annabelle, was a trip.  She had me shaking my head wondering if she ever stopped to just listen to herself speak...cracked me up!  The more I got to know Sabina, the more I liked her.  She was humble, strong and quite the little snarky thing when she wanted to be.

I can't say enough GREAT things about Jennifer Bernards Firemen series, I have enjoyed getting to know each and every character...cough...Brody...ehem...and I can't wait to see who or what she has next in store for us!!  Psycho anyone??  Yummy!!

This series is BURNING HOT and is highly recommended by A Tasty Read.

Enjoy and Happy Reading!!

Fall in Love at Christmastime

Naughty and Nice
Three Holiday Treats

Stefanie Sloane
Released Nov 5th, 2012
210 Pages
Random House Digital

Looking for Three Steamy Holiday Romances...You have come to the right place!

Blurb

’Tis the season for romance with three original holiday-themed novellas! Unwrap this festive eBook bundle and discover why these authors are quickly becoming the biggest names in the genre. Ruthie Knox tells a heartwarming contemporary story of first loves given the gift of a second chance; Molly O’Keefe releases the ghosts of Christmas past with a prequel to her novel Crazy Thing Called Love; and Stefanie Sloane weaves an irresistible Regency tale of fiery passion that burns deep on a cold winter’s night.

ROOM AT THE INN by Ruthie Knox (One of A Tasty Reads Best New Authors of 2012) tells the story of Carson Vance, who couldn't leave his hometown fast enough after his mothers passing a few years back, but leaves on-again/off-again girlfriend, Julie Long while he travels the world making his dreams happen.

Julie Long has spent long enough pining away after Carson, but she calls him home when Carson's father's health has her concerned, but how will her heart survive another hit and run visit.

As usual, Knox brings her best, with sexy heroes, steamy love scenes and just enough heartache to keep me wanting more.

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU by Molly O'Keefe is the prequel to CRAZY THING CALLED LOVE, her upcoming Crooked Creek Ranch Romance, which I reviewed and I LOVED.  If you think Billy Wilkins is a charmer as a teenager in this sweet novella, just wait until you meet him as an adult.  Molly gives us a little taste of Maddie and Billy and their journey to the alter.

ONE PERFECT CHRISTMAS by Stefanie Sloane brings us a beautiful Friends to lovers romance, which is one of my favorites to read.  Jane Merriweather looks to her friend Lucas Cavanaugh for a shoulder to cry on but end up in the comfort of his arms instead.  This was my first read from Stefanie Sloane and it certainly won't be my last.  She writes dashing heroes, strong heroines and toe-curling romance.

This Christmas Anthology is one to put on your Christmas list!!

Enjoy and Happy Reading!!

Long Awaited Reunion

Coming Home
Treading Water #4
Marie Force
Released Dec 13th, 2012
ebook
Self-Published
Source: Reviewer Purchased

The long awaited reunion of Kate Harrington and Reid Matthews is finally here...and SOOOO worth the wait!!

Blurb

The story left unfinished at the end of Marking Time picks up ten years later when Kate Harrington goes after the man she left behind when she set out to chase her dream of music superstardom. Now she has everything she ever wanted, except for the one thing she can't live without.

What will Reid say when she shows up unannounced in St. Kitts, looking to reclaim their lost love? And what will Jack, Kate's father, have to say when he hears she's gone back to her first love, a man Jack once considered a friend? And what do you think will happen when Jill Harrington, Kate's sister, attorney and manager, faces off with Ashton Matthews, Reid's son, the same man who made life miserable for Kate many years ago?

The sparks will fly when the Harrington, Matthews and O'Malley families gather in Nashville for a Christmas none of them will ever forget!

Marie Force has done it again...got my heart racing, awaiting disaster that might tear Kate and Reid apart for the second time...whew...I'm just glad I got through this one without the heart attack!  The chemistry between Kate and Reid was even more explosive than I remembered.

I couldn't have been happier at the end of COMING HOME, after the disaster that was my heart after Kate walked out on Reid in MARKING TIME, the second book of the Treading Water Series.  I had a few issues with the way Kate handled their break-up, she was immature and unreasonable.  Yes...I was on Team Reid.  But, I have to say, Kate definitely redeemed herself in my eyes in COMING HOME.  She certainly grew up and realized that she lost the love of her life because of her hasty actions, and set out to make things right.  And right they were!!

I loved Reid more than ever in COMING HOME.  He is a TRUE gentlemen and I was so overjoyed to see him happy again, after his heart was utterly broken ten years ago by Kate.  I loved every touch, every smile, every laugh...they were just too freakn adorable.

And Ashton Matthews, he certainly redeemed himself in COMING HOME.  I was happy to see him as a handsome, charming, lovable grown man, and not the same spoiled brat he was in MARKING TIME.  I LOVED the secondary romance between Ashton and Jill, Kate's oldest sister.  Their flirty banter had me flying through the pages so that I could know what would happen next.

I simply adore COMING HOME, and am so happy that Marie was kind enough to give her fans the story they had been asking for.  I never wanted to see a couple work more than Kate and Reid, and I got my happily ever after.

This can be read as a stand alone, but I would suggest reading the entire Treading Water Series first, only because they are AMAZING!!  If you are looking for a series that will have your heart breaking and the tears streaming, then this is the series for you.

Enjoy and Happy Reading!!

Bounty Hunters are HOT

Slow Heat
The Bounty Hunters #5
Lorie O'Clare
Released Nov 27th, 2012
352 Pages
St. Martins Paperbacks
Source: Gifted by Publisher

Who knew that Bounty Hunters could be so Smokin Hot!

Blurb

In the high-risk world of bounty hunters, one falsely accused woman is searching for justice—and one truly arresting man is feeling the heat…

MUSCLE FOR HIRE
As a new trainee at the King family’s bounty-hunting agency, Micah Jones is trying to keep his cool. But his latest assignment—to bring in a night-club owner suspected of money-laundering—heats up fast when he meets the “brains” of the outfit: an irresistibly beautiful bookkeeper who’s resisting arrest. So Micah takes her into custody—by taking her into his powerful arms and not letting go…

LOVERS ON FIRE
Held for questioning but released by police, Maggie O’Malley is still a person of interest—to Micah. And Maggie is interested, too—in his services. With his iron-hard muscles and tough-guy exterior, the Harley-riding bounty hunter is just the man Maggie needs to track down the real crook at the club. A slow-burning attraction ignites a firestorm of insatiable desire—until the secrets of Micah’s past are exposed. Explosive passion now must prove stronger than a history so terrifying it might haunt them forever…

I love a hero with secrets...it always makes for a spectacular, heart-breaking black moment...which are my FAVORITE kind!!  And Micah not only has secrets, but he is quite the wild man in the bedroom...Oh My!  But Maggie was able to hold her own with the big boys, with that Irish/Italian temper and spirit...she gave as good as she got.

This was my first Lorie O'Clare romance, but alas, will not be my last!  I am so diggin on these Bounty Hunters and the ladies who fall for them...poor Maggie never stood a chance.  Micah had her under his spell from the beginning.

"Why did you kiss me? You didn't have to kiss me to make a distraction.  If agents were watching us a simple hug would have created the same impression you said you wanted.  You didn't have to kiss me without even preparing me if you didn't mean it."

(He grabs her and kisses her again)
"When I do something, I mean it," he informed her, and captured her gaze the moment she looked up at him.  "I've never done anything I didn't want to do."

Yeah...and that was just the beginning! If you are looking for a romance that has a little action, a lot of drama and some very steamy love scene's, then Slow Heat is a need to read.

Make sure to check out the rest of The Bounty Hunters series,

Wonderful Christmas Romance

Baby Under the Christmas Tree
Teresa Carpenter
Released Nov 27th, 2012
192 Pages
Harlequin
Source: NetGalley

Blurb

San Diego hockey team's PR director Elle Austin goes beyond the call of duty to keep their rebel captain in check—even playing nanny to his son!Max Beasley knows nothing about looking after a baby, so he enlists Elle's help after little Troy is left on his doorstep by his irresponsible ex.

Maybe it's the spirit of Christmas, or seeing Max's softer side, but Elle wishes he saw her as more than just an employee, and that they could give Troy the best gift of all—a family!

If you are looking for a sweet, warm-hearted Christmas Romance, this one tops the cake.  I had a great time watching Elle and Max get thrown together while trying to figure out how to handle Troy, Max's adorable toddler son who is dropped off by a babysitter when his irresponsible mother disappears.

Elle is supposed to be keeping the player's out of trouble, but this has thrust Max Beasley, bad boy of hockey, right into the spotlight.  So now Elle is put on babysitting duty and with that, Max duty, which she doesn't seem to mind as much as she thought she would, and Max doesn't seem to mind having her around either.

As these two fall for each other, and for baby Troy, what will happen when Troy's mother comes back into the picture, stirring up trouble for the new family?  Will Elle and Max admit to their feelings for each other, or will Max's ex be able to tear them apart for good?

This romance was a quick read, with characters that you will fall in love with.  I am a big fan of a good sports romance and I wouldn't mind Max Beasley under my Christmas tree this year.  So grab this one up, and enjoy with a mug of cocoa on one of those cold, winter nights!

Head to Lucky Harbor for the Holidays

Under the Mistletoe
Lucky Harbor #6.5
Jill Shalvis
Released Dec 4th, 2012
ebook
Grand Central Publishing
Source: Purchased by Reviewer

Very short, but very sweet! Jill Shalvis does it again with another memorable trip to Lucky Harbor.

Under the Mistletoe brings us back to Lucky Harbor, where Mia, daughter of Tara and Ford, has flown in for her aunt Chloe's Christmas wedding.  Unfortunately, she thought she would be bringing her boyfriend of six months with her, but he bailed out with a sad excuse.  So what does she do...jump on a plane and pour her heart out to her family.

But what happens when said boy jumps on a plane to get her back?  A bit of kissing, a lot of groveling and the chance to spend Christmas with the one you love.

Even though this one was very short, Jill was still able to add a lot of love into this Holiday Novella.  I loved Mia and Nick, they were so cute and he was quite the sexy little devil.  The scene with Nick and Carlos was hysterical, and I loved the looks Nick was getting from Mia's overprotective father and uncles...but he handled himself like a gentlemen...I say he gets two thumbs up!

Very cute holiday story, and another hit for Jill Shalvis.  I LOVE the Lucky Harbor series and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to read some incredible romances with a wonderful cast of characters and a small town with A LOT of personality!

Love a Bit of Romance at the Holiday's

Romancing the Holiday Anthology
Jaci Burton
HelenKay Dimon
Christi Barth
Released Dec 3rd, 2012
257 Pages
Carina Press
Source: NetGalley

Holiday Romances are among my favorites and these ladies sure don't fall short on the romance this Christmas.  Got a chance to catch up with the Kent and Holloway Families and Christi Barth gives us a friends to lovers romance to warm the cold winter nights.

Jaci Burton brings us The Best Thing, a return to the Kent Family and this time Bad-Boy, middle brother, Brody and Tori are hitting the sheets and maybe finally admitting the feelings they've had for each other for years. I happen to love the Kent Family and look forward to Jaci's Christmas novella every year.  If you haven't caught up with the Kent Family, make sure to pick up Ethan and Wyatt's romances, All She Wants for Christmas and A Rare Gift.

HelenKay Dimon shares another Holloway Romance with We'll Be Home for Christmas.  This time Spence gets himself in over his head with a three-night stand that has turned into something more, and Lila Payne is looking for a place to call home and it might just be with Spence.  For two people who never thought they would see each other again, after three wild nights in a hotel room, the chemistry between them was electric, and the banter was hysterical.  I truly enjoyed this novella and hope for many more to come from HelenKay.

In Ask Her at Christmas by Christi Barth, we meet Kyle, handsome IT geek who enlists his best friend, Caitlin to help him find a special way to propose to Monica, the daughter of a company head who is in line to merge companies with Kyle's fathers company.  Caitlin has been in love with Kyle forever, but won't stand in the way of Kyle finally gaining the respect of his father.  What is a girl to do?  Caitlin will just have to help Kyle get what he needs and then hopefully she can find a way to survive the holiday heartache.

Great Holiday Anthology that brings heart-warming, toe curling romance to the cold winter nights!  I highly recommend this anthology and recommend reading the past holiday romances from these wonderful authors, if you haven't already!

Billy Wilkins...Oh my!

Crazy Thing Called Love
Crooked Creek Ranch #3
Molly O'Keefe
Released Jan 29th, 2013
368 Pages
Bantam Publishing
Source: NetGalley

Blurb

Dallas TV morning show host Madelyn Cornish is poised, perfect, and unflappable, from her glossy smile to her sleek professionalism. No one knows that her iron will guards a shattered heart and memories of a man she’s determined to lock out. Until that man shows up at a morning meeting like a bad dream: Billy Wilkins, sexy hockey superstar in a tailspin—still skating, still fighting, and still her ex-husband.

Now the producers want this poster child for bad behavior to undergo an on-air makeover, and Billy, who has nothing to lose, agrees to the project. It’s his only chance to get near Maddy again, and to fight for the right things this time around. He believes in the fire in Maddy’s whiskey eyes and the passion that ignites the air between them. This bad-boy heartbreaker wants a last shot to be redeemed by the only thing that matters: Maddy’s love.

I have to start out this review by sharing my undying love for our hero, Billy Wilkins.  What a wonderful guy, ok maybe not ALL the time, but he is just so endearing that I couldn't help but fall completely in love.  As you fly through the chapters, uncovering more and more about Billy and Maddy, you will fall in love too!

To be honest, this one started out a bit slow for me.  I wasn't sure that I was going to LOVE it.  I wasn't super crazy about our heroine, Maddy, even though I did sympathize with her and where she stood in her feelings for Billy, and what had happened in their short marriage.  But, don't give up, keep reading, because there is so much more to be discovered.  I found that by the end of the book, I actually really liked Maddy.  She learned a lot about herself and in the end I was rooting for things to work out between Billy and Maddy.

This is a great romance for anyone who is a fan of Rachel Gibson or Susan Elizabeth Phillips.  Molly writes not just a romance but a story about finding a real family where you'd least expect it.  I truly enjoyed this read and I hope that you will add Crazy Thing Called Love to your 2013 To Read List!
