A Valentine from Gregg to Ryan and Vice Versa

                Ryan sat back and waited for Gregg to read the poem he’d written for her, the moths in her stomach going crazy with anticipated.
                Until…
                “Dear Ryan,
                You hair is like a shiny curtain of blood”-
                “Blood! What kind of poem is this, Gregg Phillips?” Ryan asked, scowling.
                “It gets better, just shush.”
                As Ryan looked on doubtfully, Gregg continued.
           
                “Your eyes as deep as the ocean blue and twice as watery.”
                “Okay, that’s it.” Ryan started to climb off the bed, but Gregg wrapped his arms around her waist and dragged her back.
                “Come on, if you leave now, you’re going to miss the best part.”
                Ryan rolled her eyes, even though he couldn’t see her face with her back to him. “Geez, I can only imagine what could top bloody hair and watery eyes.”
                “Just hang on.” Gregg cleared his throat and said, “And your touch is as soft as the wings of a dove.”
                Ryan relaxed against him slightly, leaning her head back on his shoulder. “That’s not so bad.”
                “See, I told you. Now, for the finale.”
                Ryan smiled a she waited.
                “I still can’t believe you belong to me, and the only thing that would make out love complete…”
                “Yeah?” She held her breath.
                “Is a pepperoni pizza and for you to rub my feet.”
                Laughing, Ryan struggled against him until she could get her hands on one of the pillows. As they wrestled around the bed, she got him on his shoulder and his head before he yelled uncle. She finally stopped gasping with mirth and caught the tender expression on his face.
                “What?” she asked softly.
                “I was just thinking that if I was going to write you a Valentine’s poem, it wouldn’t be fancy or elaborate. It would be simple and straight to the point.
                “Well, then,” she said, wrapping her arms around his neck. “Tell me what it would say.”
                Leaning down, Gregg kissed her lightly, before whispering across her lips. “I love you.”
                “Hm, me, too.”
                He paused in his kissing. “I don’t even get the words back, I just get a “me too.”
                Pulling his head down, she nipped at his lip. “Fine. Roses are red, violets are blue, no other man could satisfy me, the way that you do.”
                “Charming.”
                “Yes I am. Now will you hush up, and get on with it.”

THE TROUBLE WITH SEXY is the novella that starts the Rock Canyon series by Codi Gary, and I have only read the first of the series, with the others waiting patiently on my kindle, and YES, they have been moved to the front of the list!

The novella itself is a friends to lovers, or Boss to Employee romance and was so much fun to read...I love that even though Ryan does a little V-Day transformation, it was more for her own self than to really get Gregg (his attention...YES...His Love...NO...he already loved her!)

Gregg and Ryan are a great couple to start off the fun of the Rock Canyon Series, and got some definite sizzle between the sheets...OH YEAH!  The V-Day auction scene had me cracking up...and leaving me with a HUGE smile on my face!

I already sent Codi a Facebook message about Gracie and Eric...WHAT HAPPENED?!? I can't believe we have so many books to get through before I have my answers...and MIKE, what happens with Mike? I feel like the town gossip trying to get the 411...

Fun start to a great, small town series...Not to be missed!
