MASTER OF THE INN by Ella Jade Tasty Blurb Tour & Giveaway

The Pleasure Inn series launches with Master of the Inn. This is book one in a multi-book series that centers on Pleasure Inn and the couples who spend a weekend indulging in their fantasies. The first book introduces us to Logan and Elyse and we learn how the inn came to be. Each book to follow will feature a new couple but the reader will be able to keep up with Logan and Elyse's relationship as they progress. The books can be read out of order but Master of the Inn sets the stage.

Pleasure Inn… Where all of your fantasies become reality.

Executive chef Elyse Clapton has had it with city life. She’s spent the last few years building her cheating boyfriend’s trendy New York City restaurant into a success. When their relationship ends, so does her desire to be in his kitchen. She flees to a quaint inn she remembers visiting as a child. She gets more than she bargains for when she meets the sexy, reclusive inn keeper.

Handyman Logan Cole inherited Pleasure Inn against his wishes. Ever since he got caught up in a scandal involving another man’s wife, he keeps to himself – finding solace in a bottle. He didn’t realize how lonely he’d become until Elyse shows up on his porch. He’s instantly drawn to her and convinces her to stay at the Bed and Breakfast.

Elyse comes to town looking for a getaway. She never expects to fall for Logan. It doesn’t take her long to believe the inn’s motto. Logan’s dominance in the bedroom makes all of her fantasies a reality.

A light came on in an upstairs window indicating someone was there. Elyse walked up the front steps and tried the handle, but it was locked. Just as she reached for the bell, the door flew open and a large, muscular figure appeared. The old screen door and the absence of lighting in the foyer concealed his face.

“Hi,” Elyse said. “I was driving by and wondered if you had any vacancies.”

“Here?”

“This is an inn, isn’t it?”

“It hasn’t been for over four years.” He turned on the porch light. “I thought everyone in this town knew that.”

His disheveled appearance made her think he wasn’t planning on entertaining visitors. His dark, thick hair looked as if he’d run his fingers through it causing it to stand on end. He hadn’t bothered to button his faded blue jeans or put on a shirt before coming downstairs. Elyse couldn’t help but notice how his well-defined abs disappeared into his waistband.

“I’m sorry.” She moved away from the entrance. “I’m intruding.”

“No.” He stepped out onto the porch in his bare feet. “I just didn’t expect anyone out here at this time of the night.”

“I drove from the city. I thought I might stay the night. I used to come here as a kid.” She looked past his shoulder into the foyer. She saw a fresh stack of wood in the corner and several cans of paint. “Are you renovating?”

“Trying to.” He nodded. “It’s a work in progress.”

She caught a wave of alcohol on his breath.

 “Are you just passing through?”

“I’m not sure. I just needed to get away and I remembered how perfect this place always was.”

“Yeah,” he looked over his shoulder. “Not so much anymore.”

“What happened?”

“My uncle owned the place, but he couldn’t keep up with the maintenance. He and my aunt retired and left it to me. It’s just been sitting vacant since then. It needed a ton of work. I didn’t realize how much until I actually started ripping things out.”

“How long have you been renovating?”

“A little over six months.”

“Well, thanks for your time. Maybe I’ll visit when you’re finished,” She smiled encouragement, but disappointment filled Elyse’s heart at the thought of not staying there. “Good luck with the renovations.”

When she turned to leave, he stopped her with a hand on her shoulder. “Wait.”

When she turned, his ice blue eyes held her gaze. The intensity there made her stomach flutter. It should have been a warning sign to run fast and far, but her body responded in other ways. The sensation he created from just one touch coursed through her system, landing straight between her legs.

Oh my…

“For the past few months I’ve been renovating the third floor. If I’m going to live here and run this place, I wanted my rooms to be done first before I started on the rest of the inn. There are two bedrooms up there; both have private bathrooms. You could stay if you want.”

“That’s very nice of you, but—”

“Your room has a lock.”

As if that would keep you out. You have the keys.

“I’m not ready to have guests yet, so I wouldn’t charge you.”

“I couldn’t, but thank you.”

“You drove all this way to Pleasure Inn. There isn’t another place for miles. Spend the night and then you can leave in the morning.”

She wasn’t familiar with the surrounding area and the drive had made her tired. What if she couldn’t find another place to spend the night?

“I don’t blame you for being cautious.” He shrugged. “You do what your gut tells you: but you’re more than welcome to stay here.”

She stared into his deep eyes for a few moments. She’d left the city to get away and forget about the disaster of a relationship with Phillip. She’d done nothing but work for years. She hadn’t been to a restaurant or on a vacation in months. She was too busy cooking for others. Would one night in a beautiful Victorian inn be so bad? How could it be, especially when the inn keeper looked like a goddamned Calvin Klein model?

“I’ll stay on one condition.”

“Sure.”

“You have to tell me your name.”

“Oh.” He ran his fingers through his hair and smiled for the first time since greeting her. “Forgive my manners. I’m Logan Cole.” He extended his hand to her.

“Nice to meet you, Logan,” She said properly as she shook his hand. “I’m Elyse Clapton.”

“Welcome to Pleasure Inn, Ms. Clapton.” He dipped his head as he held the door open for her. “Where all of your fantasies become reality.”

Look for the next book in the series, Indulging the Professor due out March 2013.

V-DAY with Lacey Wolfe and The Men of HOT BODS

I am thrilled to be able to spend my Valentine's Day with the Very Sexy, Always Sweet,  Men of the Hot Bods Series...oh and of course Lacey Wolfe herself!

Lacey is giving us a special treat. She brought the Hot Bods Men here to A Tasty Read to share their Valentine's Plans with us.  She is also hosting a wonderful giveaway, so make sure to read the entire post to find out how you can enter.

Take it away Lacey...

Valentine’s Day seems to be one of those holidays you either love or hate. My husband, the hero in my life, hates holidays. All of them. Every year I hear him complain about all the money spent, that to be honest, when I get my gift—usually a card and candy—all I can do is hear him complaining in my head as he forked out the money to the cashier.

This year, I’m spending Valentine’s Day with A Tasty Read. What could be better? And I decided to bring along with me the four sexy hero’s from the Hot Bods series. Each of them is going to tell us what they are doing for the special lady in their life.

Drew (Fool Me Once): I love to surprise Skylar with trips. Anytime I can talk her into taking a few days off from the gym, I whisk her away to some place magical. This year will be no different other than the fact we’re leaving the country. She has never been to Paris and what better time that now to go.

Adam (More Than Useful): I’m not big on holidays. Amy is always baking some sort of creation and I’m sure I’ll get some new muffin she’s made. Don’t get me wrong, she can make some really good things. I think I heard her chatting about cherries and dark chocolate or something. But yeah, I’m supposed to be telling what I will be doing for her. Does eating her creation count? *snickers* I think I’m just going to do the whole flowers, cards, and a box of chocolate. Maybe a kitten. She’s been wanting one.

Ben (Accidental Love): I’m very excited this year. I want to do something big for Jane. I’m thinking a bubble bath and rose peddles all over the house. Of course I’ll have to put Toby her lab up so he doesn’t eat all the peddles. I might light candles all over the entire house too. And once she’s fully relaxed, I’m going to devour her. Romance is my department all the way.

Randy (Opposites Attract): I’m with Adam about this holiday thing, but if you’ve met Francesca, than you know I’d better produce something. I think I’ll take her out to an over-priced restaurant for dinner, followed by a movie on the couch. Something we both like. Oh, and she doesn’t know it yet, but I’ve been working on a secret project in the shop. My old truck from high school we always rode around in. I restored it. It’s what we’re riding in for our date.

The men of the Hot Bods series have some big plans. I hope the girls are ready!

Which of the men above would you choose for Valentine’s Day? One lucky commenter will get to choose a book of choice from the series. *Please note: these are erotic romance novellas*

Guest Post & Giveaway for THE PLAN

Today at A Tasty Read, we have W. Charlene Ammons here Guest Posting and promoting her New Release, THE PLAN.  There will also be a Giveaway for a Paperback copy of THE PLAN and some book swag at the bottom of this post, so don't forget to scroll down to enter!!

So, without further ado...W. Charlene Ammons...

Thank you Lisa for inviting me to blog on A Tasty Read. I've been looking forward to doing a book tour for sometime now and feel honored knowing that you are one of the stops on my tour.

I guess one of the most common questions I get asked in interviews and by readers is "Where do you find the inspiration to write? The first thing that pops into my mind is--My everyday life.

It's funny really because I recall a journal entry in high school where I wrote down, "Nothing ever happens to me. My life is boring". Well, that was the kiss of death, as they say, to my normal life. I ended up getting married, getting divorced, graduating college, joining the Sheriffs Office, nearly being killed by a suspect with a gun, meeting Rudy Giuliani, Karl Rove, and actor David Hart, getting married again, investigating a homicide, becoming the Public Information Officer (thus being thrown into the local limelight) and speaking before a room full of Florida Sheriffs at a state conference. Not too damn shabby for an old country gal! My friends playfully tease me about my crazy life and the things I have endured but I really believe that God has placed me where he has to give me material.

Now, some readers out there will say they could never write a story. I'm a believer in that every soul has a story to tell. And I'm also fairly certain that most of the women readers out there at some point in their lives have written in a journal. There's your story! An entry here....an entry there. Take it and run with it. Embellish it (or maybe you don't have to!). Things that seem trivial to you may interest the person next to you.

I was recently at a conference where I spoke about my writing process. A lady in the audience brought up that her husband's aunt, who had been an ER nurse, had written down little things she saw or overheard each day at work. The lady said there were only a few lines to each story but I told her that would make a GREAT book. The notes chronicled her life for years. She could easily take those few lines of history and then spin fiction into it. The group thought it was a great idea and the ladies present started jotting down their own ideas. Hopefully that example inspired a room full of successful women to start planning story lines in their heads!

My main point in this blog? Everyone has a story. You don't have to be some creative genius to spin a tale of adventure or romance. It's everyday life. So what are you waiting for?

V-Day Came Early This Year!

A Little Bit Cupid
Jennifer Shirk
Released Jan 13th, 2013
ebook, 84 Pages
Entangled Publishing
Source: Gifted By Author
Reviewer: Lisa

Truly, Truly enjoyed this V-Day Novella from Jennifer Shirk.  Light-hearted, funny and sweet...the perfect combination for a perfect Valentine's Read!

Finding love should be easy, but wedding photographer Phoebe Ward knows better. When Cupid shows up on a crazy mission to help her —and save the world in the process—Phoebe realizes love might be even more complicated than she thought. Even with Cupid showing her Mr. Right , she can’t stop thinking about his best friend, Mr. Wrong.

Cal Crawford has never had time for love, but now he’s falling for Phoebe. Which means it’s got to be just plain wrong to set her up with his best friend, right? But even though seeing Phoebe with someone else will break his heart, he can’t walk away from her.

Phoebe can’t afford to choose the wrong guy with the fate of the world at stake. But maybe Cupid has it wrong. Maybe she has to rely just a little bit on Cupid, and a whole lot more on her heart.

A big Thank Your to Jennifer for approaching me about doing a review for A LITTLE BIT CUPID.  I have reviewed for her in the past and had enjoyed her other releases, so I figured, Why Not?  I am so so so glad that I did.  A LITTLE BIT CUPID was such a fun read.  I flew through the story with a smile on my face and a warm heart.

Our heroine Phoebe was delightful!  She captured my heart from page one and had me laughing the whole time.  The chemistry between her and Cal was sparkling and I was dying for that first kiss...I LOVE those books when I am just sitting on the edge of my seat like "Is it going to happen now?  Now?  Please, just a little kiss?"

And Cal..yummo...sorry Rachel Ray, needed to borrow your phrase for a moment!!  He was sweet and just so freakin adorable.  I just wanted to hug him and tell him that Phoebe would come around.  He was everything I love about a hero and perfect for Phoebe...or Not...but wasn't that the whole point?

I just Really, Really enjoyed this novella, and for all my Kristan Higgins fans out there, Jennifer Shirk should be on your Auto-Buy.  I know she is now on mine!!

Because I enjoyed A LITTLE BIT CUPID so much, and it is Valentine's Day this Thursday, I am going to be giving away a Digital Copy of the book...Just enter using the rafflecopter below!a Rafflecopter giveaway

A Little Diddy about Shane and Jen

Anything for You
Coming Home #2.5
Jessica Scott
ebook
42 Pages
Source: Gifted by Author
Reviewer: Lisa

If you are looking for a sweet, short V-Day read, check out this little gift from Jessica Scott, and celebrate the holiday with Shane and Jen.

Sergeant First Class Shane Garrison has spent a year recovering from his combat injuries. A year spent in the arms of the woman of his dreams. But loving Jen comes with a price: every time he touches her, he faces the uncertain fear that loving her might mean losing her forever.

Jen is a breast cancer survivor and with Shane, she’s found a man who loves her despite her scars. But her scars may be too much for their love to survive.

As their love grows, so does the risk to Jen’s life. And Shane must make the toughest decision any man can make to save the woman he loves.

All of your favorite characters from BECAUSE OF YOU are back for a sweet little Valentine's Treat.  This short has all the elements of your favorite Valentine's chocolates, it's hard on the outside like Shane's smokin hot bod, it's sweet and gooey on the inside, like Jen and how she gets when she is around Shane, and it can be gobbled up in less than an hour...the only difference is that you won't get jiggly thighs from reading ANYTHING FOR YOU.

Jessica writes a realistic account on what would actually happen between a couple if they were put in Shane and Jen's shoes.  The ole "when to bring this up" kind of conversation brings about hurt feelings and the "what if" questions for the future.  Shane has his reasons for feeling a certain way and he just hopes that Jen will understand and agree with him.  But...It might not be as easy as he would like.

I really enjoyed a quick visit with some old friends, and I think you will to!  Grab this little V-Day treat up and savor each bite...I mean page!!

IMMORTALS MAKE A COMEBACK!

Secrets of the Sky
Immortals of Alameda #2
Jaye Shields
Released Feb 4th, 2013
Ebook
Crimson Romance
Source: Tasty Book Tours
Reviewer: Lisa

You think Love-Triangles were so five years ago? Well, I guess you haven't read SECRETS OF THE SKY by Jaye Shields.  Paranormal Fantasy lovers will no doubt enjoy this New Release in the Immortals of Alameda Series.

Sparrow Reed might look like an angel, but she’s a witch with a back full of enchanted tattoos and she’s not afraid to use them. When her best friend’s life is threatened by an evil Goddess, Sparrow joins an epic battle against the demons sent to destroy her home. She never realized that the night she almost died, her life would truly begin.

Rowen Aerion of the Knights of the Fog was sent to the human realm to tip the balance in an unfair fight. But when he arrives on Alcatraz Island to aid the mortal humans, he sees an angel fighting demons. But she’s not an angel, she’s human. And according to a soothsayer, his love for her will mean her demise.

Sparrow is thrust into a world she never imagined existed, yet nothing thrills her like the handsome warrior who refuses her seduction. When Rowen’s rejection sends Sparrow into the arms of a dangerous rebel, Rowen must decide which is more dangerous, the oracle’s grim warning, or forsaking his heart’s sole desire.

Now coming from a Romance reader who basically sticks with Contemporary Romance, I can truly say that I enjoyed SECRETS OF THE SKY, even more than the first book in the Immortals series, SECRETS OF THE FOG.  There is just something about Rowen that drags you in and doesn't seem to want to let go.

The heavy flirtation, the very sexy love scenes and the even sexier "Dreams" that Sparrow has, all centers around two things, the wild attraction that Sparrow and Rowen share, and the feelings of insecurity that come with the start of any relationship, but especially one where the woman you want is having sexual dreams about someone,or something else, and there is nothing you can do to stop it...sheesh...poor Rowen!

Jaye does a great job at mixing in the Paranormal elements, the different types of creatures, the colorful descriptions of other realms, with elements of a romance that someone like me enjoys, the sweet glances, the drunken make-out sessions and the calling out the wrong guys name after an orgasm...Ooops!!

Rowen appeared beside Sodor in the doorway. Flecks of blood dotted his face, but Sparrow barely noticed. Instead, her gaze slid downward. His leather pants clung to his athletic thighs, and his whole body was damp, as if it had been drenched by a wave.

Beads of water dotted his strong chest like a sky filled with stars.

Was she staring?

What kind of sick person stared at a ripped, glistening torso instead of a

blood-splattered neck and face?

A horny one.

Melissandra seemed to notice the sensual tension filling the room and Sparrow’s quick silence at Rowen’s entrance. “Should we go above deck and help these knights clean up a bit? Obviously there appears to be a blood and guts issue.”

Sparrow blushed because she knew her skills with Wiccan were not at the same level as her aunts. To be honest, she wished she could whip out a really cool spell and impress Rowen with her abilities. After all, who knew what kind of otherworldly women he was usually surrounded by?

Morgana took the cue from her sister and pushed past the knights before they could answer. “We’ll have this place clean in a jiffy. Although if my dear niece’s telekinesis skills were up to par, her bedroom wouldn’t look like a disaster zone.”

Sparrow blushed once more as everyone else headed above deck. Only Rowen stayed behind, and she wondered if he’d sensed her discomfort.

“I’ve seen your talents in action. You flew brilliantly.” He smiled. “Who needs
telekinesis?”

She laughed, comfortable around this stunning man for the first time. “Thanks.”

“Shall we go above deck for some air?” Rowen gestured for Sparrow to go beforehim. As she walked past his form, Sparrow became all the more aware of how his body filled the space. The scent of blood and a strange odor, probably demon guts, drifted through the space, a reminder that the gentle voice belonged to a deadly warrior. She halted next to him.

He was so tall, Sparrow had to tilt her head up to gaze at his face. She smiled lightly when his aqua gaze recognized her close proximity. Her hands hovered just above his cheeks. Sparrow gazed at him and began chanting in her head until a subtle glow emanated from her hands. The light reached the skin of Rowen’s cheeks and buffed away the flecks that had dried on his skin.

As she finished chanting and the glow dissipated, Sparrow thought she saw a hungry look pass through Rowen’s expression. Lust? Sparrow smiled and withdrew her hands. “See, I’m not completely useless.” Happy to pull off the simple cleansing spell, Sparrow did her best to saunter seductively down the hall. After all, she didn’t want that to be the last time she received that hungry look from her warrior.

All in all, I think that anyone would enjoy SECRETS OF THE SKY, even if you don't see yourself as a "Paranormal Fan".  The series is inventive, creative, action-packed and the secondary characters are a hoot!  Ooh...and those KNIGHTS OF THE FOG...YUM!!

I would recommend SECRETS OF THE SKY and I truly hope you enjoy it!  Please enter the SECRETS OF THE SKY DIGITAL Giveaway and check out today's other post, where we meet the heroine of SECRETS OF THE SKY, Spunky Sparrow Reed!

ATR: Let's get down to the nitty-gritty, TEAM ROWEN or TEAM PYRRHUS?? Hee Hee, I already know your answer, I just wanted to stir the pot a little. A Jealous Rowen is a Very Hot Rowen!

Sparrow: Tee-hee. Hands off, foxy lady. He’s mine. Who’s jealous now? ;) Sodor is single though if you want me to hook you up. He’s definitely the man-whore amongst the Knights of the Fog though. And Pyrrhus…well, I heard a rumor that he’s taken now days.

ATR: I would like to talk about the "Love Triangle" between You, Rowen and Pyrrhus. Those were some VERY realistic erotic dreams you had about Pyrrhus, are you all still friends? Has Rowen gotten over his jealousy about the dreams? Do you and Rowen have Pyrrhus over for dinner? Do you double date?

Sparrow: We are still friends. Rowen is still a bit extra alpha around Pyrrhus though…. But recently we both shed blood for that man, which creates quite the long-lasting bond.

ATR: I hear that Pyrrhus might just get his own happy ending, can you give us the scoop on that?

Sparrow: Someone told me that Jaye wrote a tale that takes place where my book,, Secrets of the Sky left off. I won’t say what happens for those of you who haven’t read it yet, but let’s just say Pyrrhus is left in a precarious situation. His book begins where Sky leaves off. Does he get a happily ever after? Only time will tell!

To start out, Lynn just so happened to write my favorite kind of Romance, a second chance romance.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE all the angsty built-up feelings, all the heat and physical attraction that has only gotten stronger over the years, and all the same old issues that ALWAYS seem to still get in the way...but in the end...it all works out!!

"I'm driving you crazy? I'm driving you crazy?" Ben stood to face her as Joe ambled away into the livingroom.

"Yes." Slamming her hands on her hips, Sterling stared Ben down. "Your comments keep bringing up old stuff.  Stuff we settled two years ago."

In one second, he slammed the door shut and strode close to her.  Standing inches from Sterlings face, Ben peered down at her.  "We never settled anything.  You may have, I don't know, but we never settled anything."

Lynn had everything I enjoy about a second chance romance, and a spider web suspense plot line that kept me on the edge of my seat.  Lynn did a nice job at creating a connection between the death of the heroine's father and brother-in-law, and the murder of a young woman.  The fun starts early, when Sterling and her sister, Lacey, find the woman they are being paid to investigate, murdered, and guess who happens to be on the case....Ben Kirby!!  Oh Ben, how Sterling doesn't deserve your love!

I can understand where Sterling was coming from with her reasons for not wanting to be in a relationship with a cop, especially after losing her father and brother-in-law, who were both killed on the job.  But, my sweet little Ben tried so hard to make her come to her senses...and she was just quite hard on him...ok...she was a bitch!!  hee hee...I just wanted to see everything work out for them in the end...and boy...did they have to go through A LOT to get their HEA...Cars trying to run them over, shots being fired at their heads...I know...How are you supposed to rekindle a relationship when you have people out there trying to kill you?

The saddest part for me was the secondary story with Lacey, Sterling's sister.  Not only was she dealing with her son being sick, but to only get a small glimpse of the man she loved...so sad.  I couldn't imagine losing the man I loved so early on in life, and it hits close to home for me since my sister and brother-in-law are both NYPD.

For my Romance Suspense lovers out there, if you are a fan of Brenda Novak and Sharon Sala...Give this one a shot...and I guarantee Ben will be a new favorite hero of yours!

A Little Sneak Peak

Ben stood behind the richly embroidered drapes at the condo’s living room window and
discreetly watched Sterling walk to the car as he shuffled paperwork through his fingers. Her petite frame, dressed in a slim gray suit, pulled his attention as though he had no control.

That’s the way it was with her. He hadn’t seen her for two years, but all during that time he’d been unable to will her out of his thoughts for very long. Seeing her up close and feeling her presence today had stirred up old feelings inside him. After they’d gotten together, the terrible aloneness he’d grown to live with had vanished. It hadn’t mattered that before she’d come along he’d had no one, no family, because she’d completely filled the emptiness in his gut. Then when she left, he’d felt all the more alone for having known but lost her.

Sterling’s straight, chestnut-colored hair had grown longer, brushing gently against her slim shoulders. He liked it. And the two years apart had worn beautifully on her fine-boned face. She looked even lovelier than he remembered. In the brief moments he’d stood next to her, he’d taken in everything: her shapely curves, her intense, blue-green eyes, her sensuously curved lips the color of a rich Merlot wine.

Ben’s stomach tightened. It had to happen sooner or later, he thought to himself. Even though Sterling had left his life, it seemed inevitable that they’d run into each other sometime while working a case. He’d like to think it meant their destinies were intimately intertwined. That even though their paths might occasionally diverge and meander, they were actually headed in the same direction. She’d been emphatic at their breakup that there was no future for the two of them—that they wanted different things in life—but he just didn’t believe it. He believed in possibilities, and though in the interim he’d given Sterling her space, the hope remained strong in him that eventually, along the way, they would come together again, perhaps even stronger than before.

Ben watched Sterling drive away and couldn’t help himself. Was it too much to hope maybe this time it could be different?

About Lynn:
Lynn Crandall started spinning stories as a child when she tried to entertain her younger sister at night when they were supposed to be going to sleep. In the dark, her stories typically took on a scary or paranormal element -- didn't do much to put them to sleep.
Today, she hopes her stories still fail to put readers to sleep, but rather take them on a journey. That's what she’s been on since she decided to make writing her focus. As a reporter and magazine feature writer, she truly enjoys learning as she works on stories. As a romance writer, she enjoys doing the research and following an evolving story of the characters.
