All it takes is one mistake to be marked. One bite, she crosses a line...into forever.
Diana Hambre's body is blazing. For days this leopardess shifter has spun through a body-searing heat cycle. Alone. Her senses reel when Shawn Barclay, her boss, walks into her reserved room at the Downtown Den, a stud club for shifters. He gives Diana a choice: spend the evening with him, give into his every desire, and she'll find out what it means to quench her heat-crazed thirst—or try her luck with a stranger, one of the club bangers.

Shawn hates when his back is against the wall. One sip of Diana’s pheromone-laced scent is enough to force his alpha hand. The tables have turned and it's Diana's back he wants up against a wall or any other surface for that matter.

As the moon rises toward midnight, Shawn and Diana come to understand the difference between sex and bonding. For a night, neither of them resist their primal instincts, blindly giving into carnal desire. Her wild nature fights being subdued and she risks spontaneously shifting without warning.

Now, bearing Shawn's bite marks, she can’t simply walk away from him; not when he has the means to teach her to harness her leopardess nature. Shawn accepts the challenge of training Diana to control her untamed cravings. Employing every method available in and out of the bedroom, he discovers he's on the verge of ensnaring himself in the process.

Warning: Erotic scenes hot enough to peel paint

Dixie Lee Brown continues her heart-racing Trust No One series with a sexy veteran determined to protect an innocent woman on the run.
As a former Marine, Walker could find a needle in a haystack. But when he's asked by the U.S. Marshals to track down a nanny fleeing from the mafia, he's sure she'll be more trouble than she's worth. Especially after the sexy little thing clubs him and leaves him for dead. Walker's stunned by her courage—and her curves—and can't help feeling drawn to this damsel trying to dig her way out of distress. He'll find her, and when he does, it'll take more than the mafia to tear him away.
Darcy Maddox never expected to be running for her life. But when it suddenly looks like foe may become friend, Darcy's faced with a choice: Go it alone or trust a man she just met—never mind the way his touch gets her heart pounding. The choice seems simple enough until she realizes it's not just her life at stake—it's her heart.

HERO PROFILE

(My Opinion ONLY)

Name:  Walker
Age:  33
Occupation:  Former Marine turned…well, some might call me a merc, but I prefer the title government contractor.
Physical Description:  Tall, fit, Caucasian, shoulder length black hair usually tied back, gray eyes.
Likes:  I like the quiet, and the company of good friends, but sometimes I have an overwhelming urge to blow things up.
Dislikes:  Scumbags and liars—and creeps who hurt women really get my dander up.
Relationship Status:  Just met the girl of my dreams and looking forward to seeing what comes next.
Typical Friday Night:  None of my nights are what you might call typical, but here’s one I could get used to pretty easy. Darcy and I throw together a simple dinner, maybe barbeque a couple steaks and open a nice bottle of wine. After dinner, if it’s cool out, we’ll start a little bonfire outside my bungalow, just big enough to warm ourselves by, but not so warm that we won’t feel like cuddling. She’ll sit on my lap, and I’ll hold her close while we talk, until her eyelids start to fall shut. Then I’ll pick her up and carry her to bed.

Drink of Choice:  Now and then I like a little Crown, straight up.
Favorite Food:  Steak—just walk it past the grill!

Favorite Song:  I Drive Your Truck by Lee Brice

Choice of Transportation:  I’m good with any form of transportation, as long as I’m the one behind the wheel. Guess you could say I have control issues.

Boxers or Briefs:  Briefs

Best Memory to Date:  Without a doubt, the first time I kissed Darcy in the kitchen at Joe’s house in Gold Beach.

Words to live by:  There’s no such thing as a former Marine.

Teaser

She rested longer than she’d intended. A dry branch snapped somewhere close by, and she jerked to attention. Was that…? Don’t jump to conclusions. It was just a deer walking by or a squirrel dropping a pinecone from a tree. No need to panic. She drew a steadying breath.

Another crack—closer this time. Whatever it was, it moved toward her. She went still and strained to hear. Was it her imagination or had the birds and chipmunks scurried for cover as well? Frozen in place, she waited, listening. Nothing. There was no one there. She’d let her imagination get the best of her.

Then she heard his voice, deeper and gruffer than his obvious charade in the plane and in the car, and the sudden sensation he was right beside her, whispering in her ear, sent shivers up and down her spine.

“Darcy, it’s over. You could save us both a lot of trouble and show yourself. Don’t be afraid. I won’t hurt you.”

What a load of crap! Did he think she was a fool? That she’d really fall for that? She’d been stupid to trust him, but she wouldn’t buy his hometown boy routine again. A wave of anger rolled over her. The next time she trusted a man, there’d be twenty feet of snow in hell—if she lived that long.

His words pinpointed his location. He was too close for her to make a run for it, and he moved toward the trees she hid behind. Don’t make it easy. The words screamed in her mind. She looked for something to use as a weapon and found a broken branch on the ground. Not too heavy. She could handle it even with one shoulder that throbbed like crazy. The limb clutched in her hand, she rose to her feet. Closing her eyes, she concentrated on hearing his approach. She gripped the branch like a baseball bat and stood ready.

A whisper of sound against the trunk of the large fir to her left snapped her eyes open as she pivoted. The next instant, she stepped toward the sound and brought the limb around in an arc toward the man who stepped into view. Gray eyes regarded her with surprise as he brought his arm up to block her swing. He didn’t have a chance. Her blow caught him on the side of his head and dropped him where he stood.

Blood ran from a gash above his eye. Sickened by what she’d done, Darcy dropped the tree branch and backed away. She shook uncontrollably as she stared at the man slumped against the trunk of the tree. His long black hair pulled back in a ponytail and tied with a leather strip, his close-cut beard, and his army green canvas jacket were easily recognizable. It was the man from the airport—the one who stared at her.

Damn. There were two of them hunting her. She backed away, and when she could no longer see the man slouched against the tree, she whirled and ran.

Meet Dixie
DIXIE LEE BROWN started writing romantic suspense nearly twenty years ago. Then life took a few unexpected turns, and the writing career was put on hold in favor of starting a new life and a new job. One’s passion is not easily forgotten, however. Two years ago, Dixie started writing again-a YA novel-but, before she could finish, another idea pushed to the forefront and wouldn’t go away until a full-fledged novel was completed.

That idea became All or Nothing, the first book in the Trust No One series. All or Nothing placed third in the 2011 TARA Contest (Tampa Area Romance Authors) in the romantic suspense category.

Dixie now lives in sunny Central Oregon with two small dogs and a cat for company while she writes the third book of the Trust No One series. When she’s not writing, she enjoys reading, movies and trips to the beach.

He's got the temperament of a lion, and she's just the one to tame him.
Police records clerk Emma Beaumont has always played it safe, never taking many risks. Quiet, shy, and a little overweight, she's convinced herself that she's comfortable with the way her life is. That is until she lays eyes on incredibly sexy Lieutenant Johnny Street. But she's never met anyone with such a terrible attitude. He's a jerk. Everyone thinks so.
Little by little, Emma is forced to uncover a stronger, spunkier part of herself, one that isn't afraid to stand up to him. As she gets to know him, she starts seeing glimpses of a very different man. A man who has known great heartache, and as it turns out, has good reason for embracing such bitterness. Behind his sharp tongue and harsh demeanor, lies a young man who's desperately afraid of losing what's left of himself.
As Emma's intense desire for Johnny turns to love, she will have to ask herself how far she'll go to chip away at his frosty heart. And at what cost.
Content Warning: contains sensual sex and strong language
~~~~~~
TAMING JOHNNY was a highly anticipated read for me, and I was so happy to be able to read it early.  Johnny Street...Yes...Just the name gives you tingles...Johnny Street is a Jerk, an Asshole, a Prick, but he has his reasons, and he isn't making any excuses.  He doesn't need anyone, especially the voluptuous Clerk at the station, who gives him googly eyes, or so he makes it sound when he approaches her about her "Crush" on him.  I think I would have hit him, and I think Emma almost wants to.
But then lucky for him, he actually has a softer side, well, we can call it the "Less Prickly" side, which causes him to fall victim to Emma's Web....Poor Emma, as she wanted to do was have a crush on her boss, and maybe have him like her back, but this Johnny "I say it like it is" Street, is a crush killer.
I found myself laughing at some parts where Johnny was able to get me as riled as he gets Emma, and then feeling like he just needed a really big hug, and maybe he would stop being an ass.  If you love a tortured hero, like I do, you will truly truly enjoy TAMING JOHNNY.  Kaylie Newell has yet to disappoint me, and I will continue to sit in anticipation for her next release!!
Enjoy and Happy Reading!
She once lost his heart on a bluff. Will she risk everything to win it back?
Beautician Tracy Quinn spends her days making the women of Colton, Texas beautiful, while living down the nickname of Olive Oyl, given to her by the only man she has ever loved—Zack Cartwright. She spends her nights alone, despite what her ex husband wants their friends and neighbors to think.
Ex-rodeo cowboy. Ex-bad-boy. Ex-Marine. Widower and single dad Sheriff Zack Cartwright can describe his life in exes. One ex in particular reminds him of what’s missing in his workaholic life: Tracy Quinn. For years since she broke his heart, he’s practically made avoiding her a second job. He still wants her, but can never go after her.
When cattle rustlers target her brother’s ranch, Tracy and Zack are stuck working together. Her son could use a positive male role model, and his daughter is wild for a chance at a “substitute” mom. But Tracy’s ex threatens to sue if she lets Zack near her son, and the Colton grapevine is abuzz with rumors about their past relationship. Is it worth the gamble to see if what they have is more than lust?
CONTENT WARNING: Spicy sex
Sneak Peak
“I was hoping you could keep me company this afternoon.” He skimmed his fingers over her cheek.
Her insides, heating up like lava under the surface of the earth, pooled in her low belly. Her lips parted.
Against her lips, he whispered, “Tracy, I want you.”
She had thought of little else since he’d left her standing on her porch Friday night. He was asking her to enter into a sexual relationship without any hope of a future--without love.
But she was already in love with Zack.
Both of their kids would benefit from them being together. Hadn’t that been what she’d decided while she tossed and turned in her big, empty bed?
With her gaze locked on his, she murmured, “I want you, too, but I have a stipulation.”
He leaned back. “What is it?”
“I’m no one’s bed-buddy, Zack. I know what my reputation is in this town, but it’s all wrong.” She swallowed her rapidly thumping heart back into place. “I’ll only go through with this, if you promise to treat me as a serious girlfriend. That means we date, we visit with our families and we share our kids.” When his expression hardened, she quickly added, “Mandy likes me. And I adore her. I’d like to bring her here, to the shop, for a few hours and play. And take her shopping. I know your mom tries, but she’s busy with her foundations and charities she does for the Junior League.”
The breath she sucked in was full of Zack’s scent of sage and leather. “Meanwhile, you can teach Bobby how to ride and maybe take him to the sheriff’s department and show him around. Jake won’t like it, but I’ll deal with him.” Having laid her demands out on the proverbial table, she held her breath, waiting for him to tell her what she could do with herself. After all, a man of Zack’s caliber could have any damned woman he wanted. Tracy was just handy, and according to the gossip of her ex-husband and mother-in-law, she was easy.
He studied her for a few moments. “That’s more than one stipulation.”
“Take it or leave it.”
“Tracy, it won’t change what I told you Friday night. I’m never getting married again.”
His words stung as much now as they had the other night, but she didn’t show him how much. She kept her face determined, as if she were haggling over one of his horses, rather than her body and soul.
“Fine. But I’m not a floozy. Yes, I’ve made mistakes. But I have my son to consider. And I’d hope you’d feel the same about Mandy. They’re bound to see us together. What do you plan on telling your six-year-old daughter when she asks about me? That I’m your friend with benefits? I know that isn’t what I want to be teaching my son.” Moreover, she didn’t want to give credence to Jake’s claim that she had no sexual morals.
“Okay,” he said at last. “We’ll play the game your way.” He pressed her against him. “Luck would have it I’m off this afternoon, too. I’ve already put in sixteen hours.”
When his lips captured hers, she knew she’d made a pact with the devil, but she couldn’t stop the elation surging through her. There was something he wanted from her. Sex was a big portion of it, but something else kept Zack from walking away and hooking up with any one of the many available women in town.
I was so waiting for the second book in the Colton Gamblers Series, so that I could get the story of Zack and Tracy, which happens to be one of my favorite kinds...a Reunion Story.  I don't know if it's all the left over feelings, that love that has never gone away, or if it's all the angst and not knowing, but they are one of my favorite kinds, and this one was NOT a disappointment.
Tracy and Zack are both "Single Parents", Tracy with an asshole of an ex, and Zack a widower.  Starting something again with the one person who betrayed you, is something that Zack never thought he would ever consider, but Tracy has always been the love of his life, and when it's meant to be, it's meant to be.
There is PLENTY of drama, which only has you cheering on Zack and Tracy and hoping that nothing else will stand in the way of their reunion.  Ex-husbands, Children, Careers, and those old hurts all cause issues for these two, and I enjoyed every page!!
If you have read the first book, GAMBLING ON A SECRET, they you will truly enjoy Zack and Tracy's story, but it can also be read as a stand alone.  If you have a nice day at the beach, grab this one up.  Why not take a GAMBLE!!
Death of a Waterfall is a new book by up and coming author, Kara Leigh Miller. I must tell you that I am already a fan of Kara’s and was not disappointed in her latest work.
Teghan Jacobs didn’t think anything could be worse than learning she’s pregnant by a man she’s been dating less than six months. Boy was she wrong. Her mother, whose drowning in the river of denial, refuses to take a side on the issue. Her overbearing, manipulative father threatens to disown her and cut her off from her trust fund if she doesn’t have an abortion.
Donnie Marks couldn’t be happier. The woman he loves, the woman he fought so hard to be with, is going to have his baby. Life has never been better. But when she shows up in his dorm, sobbing and heartbroken, he learns the horrible truth of what happened. He vows to get revenge on the man who's responsible: Teghan's father.
I can’t say enough about this amazing coming of age story. It is about a girl who spent most of her perfect life pleasing people and the fall of what happens when she starts to live her own life. There is everything in this story, family loyalty, love, loss, tragedy, friendship and a bit of intrigue.
Teghan is a strong female lead. She is a spoiled little brat. Kara does an excellent job making her relatable and likeable at the same time. She has flaws like any girl her age, but her biggest flaw is she wants to please everyone.
Dysfunction does not even touch on a description of her family. She has an older sister who seems to be missing a lot. I did wish she had been more present in the storyline. She has an older brother Trevor, who is a typical college boy. Her mother Rachel is physically there, but no emotional support to Teghan, whatsoever. Jim is her father and makes an excellent villain. Other than that, I am going to follow the rule my grandmother taught me. “If you don’t have anything nice to say about someone, don’t say anything at all”.
Donnie is the male lead. Donnie is a guy from the “other side of the tracks” and he and Teghan have an instant connection. He has many endearing qualities, but he loses my love eventually. We don’t know much about Donnie and that is the best part. There is much more to come about him.
The gang of friends that Teghan hangs out with is a likeable bunch. Annabel her best friend, could have showed more support. It was implied but I would have liked to see more from a friendship like that. There are a few in the group I would love to see expanded on in the nest book (There had better another.)
 There is a romance, but I have to say it has moments where it is dark. Meaning the subject matter is dark. It all adds to the story and it would not be the same without it but, dark still the same.
 I did not know there was a genre known as New Adult. This is my first title in it. I look forward to more in this and by this author.
Some seats in Congress turn over once in a lifetime, and the election isn’t a race; it’s a crowded, mad dash for Washington, D.C. When the local congressional seat opens up for the first time in forty years, Sonoma County Supervisor Ursula “Lily” Robles knows it may be her only opportunity. Though she’s a long shot, she likes her chances.
The night before she announces her candidacy, she meets a handsome stranger at a coffee shop. He’s the first man to catch her eye since her husband, and she’s taken with him—until she realizes he’s her leading opponent in the primary. State Senator John “Jack” Bengston can’t place where he’s seen her face, but he’d like to get to know her more. There are times when politicians want to put their identities aside.
This was a REALLY enjoyable read for me.  I liked the realness of the plot line and the characters were interesting, and kept me reading long into the night.  The plot line was different, and I wanted to know HOW these two, who seemed at a crossroads, were going to pull off a relationship and keep on running against each other.
Jack is charming, and determined, and Lily, is not a pushover, but she has a big heart, and despite not wanting to be "the girl" in the race, she sure has girl feelings towards Jack.
My favorite scene was at the Democratic Dinner that Lily wasn't supposed to go to, you finally see her break down and actually let herself be a woman, and have those "Feelings" we all HATE when we see the boy we like with another girl.
Fabulous read, interesting characters and I know many of my followers will enjoy it!  Just so you know, the bedroom door is closed!!
Enjoy and Happy Reading!
